Friday

Another fast week flew by.  It happens way to often.  I just get on the train and go with the flow.  Today was a good day.  I've had another one.  I am grateful.

After all the morning stuff, I was out and about thinking.  A few days ago I wanted to keep adding to what ever was present in the garden.  So today was adding day.  I added more good ground cover around the stepping stones including some hens and chicks just to make it look a little more interesting.  Well, maybe.  I planted some seeds.  The jonquils keep on being green.  I'm ready for them to move to dormancy.  It doesn't seem to be what they are thinking about.  Could it be the cool spring?

There was a lot of walking moving g cover from the front of the house to the back of the house.  I added more Becky Daisy's and some tall curry.  There is more to do.

Then I did a little work on another bed doing some totally different things this year than in any other year.  There is more to do.

The crocosmia, lantana another curry plant, strawflowers and more need to be added.                   Lantana makes me think of the south where it isn't killed by the frost but grows to be BIG!

Then there was a late lunch and a long sleep and it was time to make some decisions about zinnias and the jugs.  The fact that it's been a long wet spring season with not much heat has affected zinnia jug growth big time.  Today is the 8th.  Frost Free Day is the 15th.  I decided to try planting directly in the ground.  So the afternoon I held forth with that effort.  Now if that doesn't work I'll be buying short zinnias at some point at the tent.  I'll look for plants emerging in a week or so.

Eventually the seeds were covered.  Now we wait.

A few other plants found a home.  Some relocated finding new plots.  All in a day's work.  Then the rain came again.  I hope everyone survives a good drenching.  Another good salad was on the supper menu.  We picked up Eric in Broad Ripple.  Kat went to Goshen bringing Andrew back for the Sunday celebration honoring Denise C for her 40 years working with the smallest children's choir at church.  She made music fun.  Both grandsons loved her dearly.

So another Friday evening to relive the day.  It was a good one and gratitude is my mantra.
