Monday
Today was one of those days with a little of this and that. But I'll admit it was mostly outside.
The squirrel was determined to get some peanuts. Success was not part of the day.I could say it was transplant day with a bunch of things. There are a lot of bare places but that's not uncommon for this time of year. The movers were dill, strawflowers, swamp milkweed and two somethings that also one might think are annuals but sometimes the hold over for the second year. One jug gave up straw plants. There is another full one. The zinnias are slow go still. Lets see how patient I can be.
The jug found a place in the garden again near the cup plant, asters and B Eyed Susan's.I saw that some night animal snipped a couple of common milkweed off eating everything. I suspect rabbits but I really don't know not being a nocturnal animal. I filled a pot with tiny emerging parsley and nostrum seeds. The squirrel thought it was his playground so the chicken wire now covers the pot. Some B .E. Susan plants were pitched and one relocated. Once again some of the beds were fluffed to keep the weeds in line. I guess one might say same old same old. It's one of those trips around the sun.
Dianthus seem to be all pink this year. I like them anyway. I see a few raindrops. The afternoon was windy, cloudy and rainy. Tomorrow there's a promise of more rain. I spent enough time out and about that ended with a protein drink. They sure come in handy. The afternoon ended with books. That's a great ending to another garden day. They just keep on coming but I think I'm seeing the light way down the tracks.
An awesome cage frustrated this little character all day long.Yes, this is a bit short tonight. Nothing unusual is going on. It's just a short blog tonight. There will be more tomorrow.
