Sunday

Up and ready!  Plant Swap Morning!!!  We arrived at church earlier than usual.  Why not...Plant swap morning for sure.  And I did swap more than once.  There were plenty of plants and some that would fill spaces I had thought about for some time.  I hid the collection in the court yard bushes.  Last year I gathered them together and before I knew it folks thought they were part of the collection to choose from.  I learned my lesson.

                                                                                Today's pickings.

There were more Laurel Dahlias, small annuals, and hyssop among a few other things.  I was a bit worried not knowing where I had left my purse.  I knew where the plants were.  Well, the purse never left the car.  Dah!  Do you think my mind was on the most important thing?  Maybe so.

Jill preached this morning a wonderful sermon on the Lions that come into our lives.  We need to remember that God is with us.  She can attach a subject from so many angles.  I love following her thinking.  Brandon was with her on the pulpit.  Darren took the Sunday somewhere else.  I could imagine a trip to family.  The new choir director was announced and will begin work with us June 1.

Then it was home again with lunch, a change of cloths and out in the garden with more work accomplished but more to do.  It was quite warm.  Good Zinnia weather.  I may have spotted three zinnias appearing in the garden that I planted...but then maybe not.  One of the Zinnia tent flats found spots for living. They bring a little color called cheer.  Late summer pictures will tell it all.

It won't be long before those one flower plants will turn into many flowers.                                              Two flats equal 98 plants.  The number I thought I had increased by 50%.                                                                                          There is a place for all.

I took a cool off break.  Did the chair thing with a protein drink and fell asleep.  Then the second shift of the day happened with chives moving to the Big Blue.  They had overstayed their welcome.  The pot the  chocolate mint lived in was pitched and the plant was moved to a better pot.  I thought it would take on an expired look but it looked happy immediately.   The Curry needed to be moved. Another plant needed it's site.

Chocolate Mint works well with coffee.  Try it if you can.

Then there was room for the Hyssop plant from the swap.  It's nice and tall and mine from other years was barely out of the ground.
I hope that little green plant is developing roots.  He hasn't changed very much lately.                                                The big guy got a good pinch. Hyssop makes the best ice tea.

I called it quits and worked on the blog.  Tomorrow is an early morning trip to IU North for the monthly blood work.  Then it's off to church preparing areas for Pentecost Sunday.  So it's wait and see if anything gets added to the garden.

Today was another special time of the week for many reasons.  Good worship, music and preaching.  Good times with friends we hadn't seen for a while who were attending a Meth. conference in downtown Indy over the weekend.  A phone visit with my sister. And I would say it was just good.
