Saturday

Pictures today were a little sparce so I'm including some sent from the Michigan Russell's Saturday.

It started with their usual run to the doughnut shop and coffee.  Then it was on to race watching Jacob and Abi at the starting gate.

                                                                        Ready, Set, Go!

They finished but how far did they run.  That question hasn't been answered as of tonight.                                 I would say that picture is interesting.  Seems they are floating to the end.

Saturday all day. It started with thinking about rain.  It's predicted but with a 20% chance there is an 80% chance  rain won't happen.  And it sounds like the same information is coming for the next few days.  So, I started watering this morning. A new way of doing that using a body that is not quite as young as it once was follows.  I have a garden cart.  I fill the cart with 3 sprinkling cans and a bucket.  Then pull it to the hose and fill everything pushing the cart to where I need to go. It works well.  No more carrying cans.  It throws my balance to kingdom come.  Dah.  I don't want to go there.  The plants are looking like they usually do this time of year.  The gardener is happy but impatient.  Time will help.

Sweet Peas and Dill, a good combination with Mother-in-laws tongue. That tongue should behave!

So, the Dahlias got a drink as well as the far garden plants.  Tonight I'll do some bed watering from the hose and sprinkler.  Those beds are nearer the house.  I hate pulling the hose to the outer banks of the state.  So that's the way watering happens at this house these days.  Now any help from above will just be the cherry on top of the banana split. An update...the storm clouds rolled in but the drops were few and far between.

Kimmy's clematis with a very unusual butterfly.

This afternoon was another sleepy time that I really enjoyed.  Later around supper I headed east again to see R.    Sheryl another Living Strong member was there so the three of us had a good visit.  Then it was home again for the evening.

A baby is hiding in the Russell woods.
