                                Number one is showing off.  There will be more competition soon. 

 Another morning of worship.  We were off to church again around 10 and bumping into the minister around 10:30 was asked to be a part of the welcome moments for our new minister of music.  Of course I said yes.  So, I had a line or two about a metronome keeping us in time in the welcoming remarks.  Fun, fun.  An unexpected moment that comes naturally at times at North.  We hope Theo is with us for many, many years having great musical skills that are a good fit leading North in worship.  




A friend who knows Theo well working with him at Anderson University said he struggled wondering if his life should be one of ministering in the pulpit or music.  He chose music but certainly will now be ministering in every service.  People like Theo become the choir's minister in so many ways. 


                    There was a wonderful reception for him and his family after the second service.  

Home for lunch and the afternoon included a trip to Ace for OFF spray.  My body has been eaten by bugs.  I think they are of the numseeums variety.  Yes...I never see what is biting and they go right through my clothes no matter what I'm wearing.  So I'm trying OFF spray.  


Then it was on to the drugstore for itch off!  I picked up some stuff.  Asked about a prescription hearing it will arrive tomorrow.  So, everything went back on the shelf until tomorrow.  I still have a bit of soothing in a tube so that itch prevention isn't quite as critical as the repellent OFF! 

While at Ace I bought a new flower to replace the pot flower dying from heat.  It's been planted and I think will carry on for the rest of the growing season. 

                    We're a little pink on the patio for the rest of the summer.  Well, that's the hope.

The afternoon has been warm and sitting quietly for a while was the order I heard in my ear.  Doug made an Uber trip again.  Another chipmunk.  It's interesting how we never see them until they trap themselves. That's just fine with me.  Once again the thunder is rolling with very little results.  The same happened yesterday.  Bummer for sure.  Maybe later tonight.

Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

 The morning started off with breakfast and then a trip with Eric to Nora where he catches the bus to Indy.  I always love these trips in the winter often accompanied with a beautiful winter sun rise.  The morning light was coming through but it will be even better in another month.  I have taken some beautiful pictures in the early morning.   Home again and I did some sewing and some knitting.  The usual stuff that seems to be the winter work.  Ten more burps and I finished another scarf, one that could have been finished yesterday.  I was thinking no rush which is really true.  There is no rush. All the ripped fabric has been sewn so it would seem new ripping will happen soon. This noon was our first North Side North Church noon lunch instead of supper.  No driving in the dark for three months.  There were eleven of us, a smaller group but we all sat around one long table which was really nice.  And there was so much tal...

 Another Monday.  There have been many.  I think I've had 1524 of them.  Math wasn't my best subject, but I think that number is close to being correct. I am more than grateful.  In another 13 days soon to be 87 with 52 Mondays in a year.  Should I have added the 0 year?  Yikes. There are many Mondays.  Go figure yours.   There was breakfast and the garden walk and sure enough, sleep gave the embarrassed zinnias a gift.  They look great although a day in the sun will have some affect.  Tomorrow they should really feel good.   I did a bit of clipping this morning and found that yesterday and today's deer food resulted in 63 naked stems with not a day lily bloom left to show themselves to the world.  Grr for sure.                              The leftovers from the midnight meal of daylilies.
