Sunday

Only God can make nigella seed pods.  They are beautiful just being a seed pod and nothing else.  But their seeds do make beautiful flowers.  There is a little white one in the picture. Pinks are dianthus.

As you have known for years...Sunday follows Saturday.  It happened all over again.  So after a little of this and that, we were off to church again.  June is Pride month in Indy as well as at church.  The first Sunday is always a communion Sunday.  Nothing changes that.  The second Sunday is the day after the big Saturday in the city.  And it's a big Sunday at church.  This one being one blown out of the park for many reasons.

1.  Members of the Indy Men's Choir sang two anthems.  Beautifully done with great meaning.

2.  The Bell Ringers played two wonderful anthems.

3. The Cathedral Singers Summer choir added their music selection.

4. Our minister of education preached relating his life story starting with his SBC beginning, living through his hidden gay life and then feeling redemption knowing he was loved as he was.  He announced he has been accepted at Christian Theological Seminary starting his move into ordination.  It was a thrilling morning for many reasons.  The service was streamed and one can catch the flavor of the morning by checking out North United Methodist Church Indianapolis, In.  There are many North UM Churches.  Indianapolis will help get you to the right church.

5 There was an update about a prior minister whose family will self deport back to India at the end of the week, even though they received their green cards that were withdrawn a week after receiving.  North has walked the walk with the minister and his family who served at North 2 years ago.  Having just been ordained as a UMC minister, he will stay in Indy with the hope that his family can return at some point.

Church was alive with a buzz with folks hanging around enjoying their together feeling long after church was over.

I have this native in two places.  It was deer food in one spot.                                                                              I call myself lucky to keep a few queens safe.

Then it was home for the rest of the day.  I got my lunch together and headed to the chair with eating material and more soccer watching.  Some games were really good. Some could have been better and there seemed to be some playing that was hot but not so hot.  Particular those where water breaks were needed!

I took this picture seated at the picnic table knowing that the noisy bird would be heading to the suet .                                                     Sure enough.  I figured that correctly.

I spent a little time in the garden tying up things that were sagging.  Dead heading and snipping a bit here and there. A few weeds but not many were pulled.  Radishes were selected, washed and in the refrigerator for salad enhancement this week.  I could eat them all at one setting.  They are mild and tasty at this point.

Two plants have peppers hanging.  I discovered them when deciding the herb garden needed a touch up.

I checked on the plants that are chosen for a new place.  They can wait a bit.  New discoveries were made.  I visited neighbor Gina who has been working a whole lot on new flowerbeds.  She has done a monumental job changing our view out the front door.  There is more to come for sure.

This frame got a bit stronger by adding more pussy willow branches.  I feel like a pioneer lady when  I'm adding more sticks to the frame just as those long ago pioneer folks did.

Then there was supper that came with the realization that there is no soccer tonight but the coming week will be full of play.  The calendar has a few things not to forget like a dentist appointment.  Bummer.

Yes, stakes at the rear of the picture are ready for dahlias when needed.
