Tuesdaiy
The day started with time on the patio. A peaceful morning with the birds. Then a clang on the trap meant a trip to the woods with a customer. Yes...another early morning chipmunk that ran around my feet and found the trap. I did the Uber this morning.
Then I was off to church to finish the sanctuary decorating for Pride month. Not on the liturgical calendar, but a very important month for North U M Church.
It was a new idea for the month bringing about a visual that says you belong here. Heidi and I worked it out and those who passed through the sanctuary approved. This will remain through the month of June.
It was a good morning. North once again will be a part of the Saturday downtown parade with a booth at the all-day celebration. Many folks will hear about our ministry.
I wanted to ride in the parade but decided that I might be pushing health issues. I try to avoid big crowds. Saturday will bring one of those. Many colors make a rainbow. Our diversity reminds us of that rainbow. A wonderful anthem we have sung.
Doug had an appointment at I U North and I made good on the promise to be home in time for him to be on his way north. It can be a challenge with so many road closings. We tried to think through the detours and the real driving experience proved that all the detours were gone. We had a great laugh about that.
I spent his away time sleeping while the TV roared on. I planned on moving a few garden plants but decided the afternoon was a bit hot and being bitten up was something I wanted to avoid. I've had more than a few of those. So, I'll leave that to perhaps the evening hoping to avoid those little irritating no-see-um bugs. The rest of the weeks will be hot and rainy. That's great for the plants and the bugs will be dancing.
It's great when I can find borage to plant in the garden. It's just an interesting herb. After supper with a smidgen of a cool off I couldn't feel I sprayed Off, put on my clothes and then sprayed again. I think it helped but I did get a few bits. Uck! I transplanted basil, marigolds, zinnias and pot marigolds. The tomato plants look wonderful but needed some branches trimmed out to let some light in. A few suckers left. I dusted the cabbage again. I sprayed the deer food hoping to keep it off limits. Rain is expected soon again. I'm hearing thunder. It was so good to check again on all the garden folks.
A sweet little unusual borage eatable flower.
