Wednesday
It's strange how different each day can be even though there are so many things that are the same. That was proven today for sure. It was the same people in the same house with the same goals and just more of the same. Then there were all the different things that made the day perhaps a bit more interesting one would hope.
I was up early and found the beautiful orange bird with the black head eating jelly at the feeder. I made sure the cardinal had black sunflower seeds and the blue birds had food for their babies. We see them often these days and I would imagine their family is growing with holly hocks in their view.
Yesterday when Kathy was here, we checked the Dahlias and she confirmed what I suspected. The rabbits have been at all but one of the Dahlias nibbling off all the NEW growth. I decided that was going to change but I wasn't happy with my solution. This morning I tried something new and I think it will be successful. It's a good thing I love yogurt. I knew there was something at some point when the containers would come in handy. I'm giving it the old college try to protect.
Home again knowing there was information about a tornado warning coming this afternoon with a very bad storm predicted for late afternoon. It was freaking some folks out at the hospital. The sky was very dark even at noon. So, we'll keep an eye out for what ever comes along. There was rain, sometimes a lot and sometimes not.
The soccer games were the afternoon entertainment along with a few other things that gave me a giggle. Sometimes one just needs to let loose and play around with imagination. That happened here with a twist on the yogurt container idea. My Dahlia friend Laura thought I need a cat to guard the Dahlias from the Dahlia eating bunnies. Well, I got one along with a care taker for the cat. They happened to come along perhaps because there was too much time on my hands. It's hard and really not a good idea to garden in the rain. The soil can be damages. So I stayed clean and made new friends. Really MADE them.
Supper happened along with a good roll of thunder that happened ever so often. Yes the storm is here but so far, no tornado warnings that I've heard of. There will be more soccer tonight. I'm loving every minute.
