 Back home again in Indiana.  Carmel to be more exact.  We left the kids around 9:20 and I was the driver.  A new experience for both of us.  I did about 2/3s of the drive and Doug did the rest.  It's a good thing to split this job between the two of us.  Nothing much happened on the drive except what I call one big exception.  While driving I spotted two deer by the road side.  Now the Mi. Russell's have hit more than their share of deer with more than their share of car repairs.  Jacob score is three.  He has the biggest number.  




I slowed way down having seen them pretty far ahead.  Then one darted across the road waiting till I was nearer from one corn field to another.  The other one turned back but then decided to follow the first one.  I anticipated that so all the bad stuff was adverted.  It helps to think like a deer...MAYBE!



So back home around 3:30 but then directly it was off to I U North for bloodwork.  That didn't work because there was no DOC. order as there usually is.  It ran out!.  So I called his nurse and she sent the order but it was too late to get the draw.  That will happen tomorrow morning at 7:30.  I discovered that the iPhone needed more work so I took the newer and the older to Kat for corrections needed.  Then it was off to McAlister's with supper with the North group.  Woo.  No moss was growing under our feet.  After eating and visiting we were back at Kat's for a pick up discovering they were not home.  They are busy people also.  So now we wait for iPhone news.  If it comes OK.  If not, tomorrow is another day.  


It's time to sit a spell although the car ride involved sitting which included a bit of work while doing that. 

Michigan was busy with buckets of fun and something new happening minute by minute.  I was so happy we could make the trip again.  We saw all three grandsons.  Met some girl friends.  Played card games and stayed forever busy. 


Now if you are wondering where the pictures could be...They are all with Kat and the iPhone at this point.  There are a lot of activities of the weekend to share and that will happen when I get once again the iPhone.  All in due time.  

News Flash.  Noah, Eric and Kat arrived with all that was wrong now corrected.  So that's the reason you see pictures later than expected.  There are more for tomorrow's post.

Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

 It's 7 PM and 66 degrees maybe with a breeze off the lake.  Changed to long pants and a better jacket.  It's cloudy right now with a chance of rain tonight.  Most rains are not predicted so it's maybe yes and maybe no.  So what was today like.  Check what was posted for yesterday with  kayaking deleted. Read, slept, walked and played cards once again.  We had icecream at the Fort Store.  That was a first.   We played a couple of games of Kubb.  It's a great yard game that one can become proficient in quickly.  The WiFi is really slow for picture up loads so one will need to do.   Tonight the JB family will begin packing for home.  The camp kitchen will come down and tomorrow morning the tent will be next.  The hope is that they will leave the campground no later than 10 after their last pancake breakfast at our dining fly.  It's always a sad time but the plan is to do this all over again next year...

 This morning...nothing different.  Cards and Pancakes with no rain and none promised.  That could change but so what.  A little rain never has stopped us from doing.   The first big bottle of syrup and the first bag of pancake mix is gone but there is more stashed away.  We never run out of breakfast fixings.  The second book is well on the way. I think it's the same for Doug.  I spent the afternoon with Natasha sitting on the deck and visiting with her mother Dorthy.  She is a great storyteller.  Natasha's dad is our potter friend Dennis.  Natasha is also a potter among many other things.  This is a picture of the shop.  A large deck behind the deck is a sweet place to visit and make new friends.   Today our church friends Jeanie and Neal arrived.  They will be here for 3 nights.  We'll do a little visiting later around the Jared Russell campfire giving them some ideas of what they might like to ...
