Something different.

Vacation weather can be interesting.  And last night was an interesting night for sure.  I slept through it all.  Yes, a huge Lake Superior thunderstorm with lots of lightning so they say.  I knew it was raining really hard when we went to bed.  That's all I knew.  And we stayed extremely dry through it all.  This morning there was a little more rain but not much and this is how one makes pancakes when that happens.

Now for those who have a good look in the skillet you might see eggs.  Eggs are the last thing to come off the griddle.  Those are for me.  There still are eating issues but improvement is happening.  There is always a way to get the pancake job finished even in the rain. This time Doug and the umbrella got food on the table.   The morning was filled with the card game 3/13 and Doug won his first game of the season.  Woo, woo!!  It was lunchtime and then we went into town, maybe a mile perhaps, and spent the afternoon at the pottery shop, this time visiting with the Potter's daughter who now is the potter of interest in the town along with a friend.  We planned a service workday project for next Wed. getting a shed cleared of clutter.  We're using the other Russell family boys starting around 10 and working till 12.  The kids will have the afternoon for their choice of things to do.  This afternoon the waves on Lake Superior were great but the water was too cold for even Adam.  That's cold for sure.

Tonight I'm adding a picture of Jared's campsite.  We have the same kind of tent Jared has although he has a larger tent for their five people.  Ours is a bit smaller with plenty of room for two.  We've added a folding table and chair inside with a rug on the floor and a lamp on the table among other things.    Pure comfort although Doug insists that the ground is very comfortable for sleeping.  I don't get it.  I love my cot.

I've added a picture of the Copper Harbor Lighthouse.  There is no trail to the house but the four boys took their kayaks to the lighthouse a few days ago.  It was a good distance but lots of fun for them.
