Sunday
We were on the road by 8 am and the van just kept running until we were just south of Rockport Ill. I took some Indiana pictures through the window. It shows what one sees in northwestern Indiana. It's much the same but now you know.
Illinois is just full of corn. There are fields 5 miles long...there is lots of corn. So no pictures. Corn looks the same everywhere. Did I say Illinois is just full of corn. Then on to Wisconson. The sign proves it. We skipped the REST part. Now Wisconson is another thing. It's beautiful with long rolling hills covered with trees and grain. . From the highway, one can see forever. Tomorrow there will be a whole lot more of Wisconson to see. That will include big farms with lots of silos, big fields to raise food for all the cows that bring us delicious Wisconsin cheese.
Our overnight stop is once again is at Sun Prairie, a small town east of Madison. We made our usual stop at the library but being Sunday it has an early closing hour. The lawn of the library is filled with many, many flowering prairie plants. Just beautiful and I took some pictures. The community gardens were once again just beautiful. Here are some pictures of the prairie.
We had a late lunch early dinner with time spent at Culvers. TV and time relaxing is on the schedule.
Oh, yes since it's Sunday, Tom Woo with scripture and Christopher Harvey preaching the word at Second Presbyterian allowed me to have church time while looking at cornfields, I surfed for North Church but they were unable to find me. That's a puzzle. I'm posting tomorrow morning's post today since I have found wifi. Another big driving day tomorrow with Dennis and Leslie at the end of that road. More Wisconson and then the U P of Michigan.
Happy you are enjoying safe travels and sharing the scenery and descriptions with us.
ReplyDeletecool! thanks so much for the pictures and the updates. It sounds as if you are having a wonderful time. But, why do you stop at the library? Do you take the books back on your way home?
