Work Day.

Today's work will include loading the car meaning that the dining room will be unloaded among other places.  It usually doesn't take very long to find places in the car for everything.  The best part is that all is safe from the rain which wasn't the case when we traveled by truck.  This is an easy do.  Then it's off to the north tomorrow with an overnight at Sun Prairie, Wis. just outside of Madison.  It's such a cute little town.  We have spent time at their library, community garden spot, Goodwill, and the Catholic Thrift Store finding lots of great bargains.    

There were moments of texting yesterday to the Michigan family as they made the trek toward Copper Harbor.  There were pictures of the Mackinaw Bridge, great breakfast rolls at the  Hill Top Restaurant, and of course a picture of the three boys sitting on the stone boat at Kearsarge, Mi.  All yearly traditions.  

The rain continued overnight and I think I hear the garden asking for a life preserver.  It is one soggy mess meaning hands-off from the gardener.  The pictures are some taken a few days ago.  

Our Michigan friend Dennis caught minnows as a child in the container that now holds flowers. 

The paper and mail have been stopped, the neighbors are checking the vegetable garden for food and Eric will be watering if that is ever needed.  Most of the plants are really drought tolerant but I did ask that the dahlias receive some attention.  We're closing the chapter here and moving for a little R and R in a different place.  We are ready! We are grateful for my health that has returned, Doug's ability to hold off painful attacks with diet watching,  friends and family to visit, and the ability to keep the vacation tradition alive.    Blessings abound.   There will be lots of chair naps, books read, conversations and family card playing during the Michigan two weeks.
