Wet Feet
Yes. It rained last night. Another hit of which there haven't been many. And the itch to get back in the garden was just to much to ignore. So clippers in hand I went to meet the next job. Decision was made to tackle the artimessia. It's white color adds so much to the garden in the summer. But fall and rain just turns it a mucky gray. Time to go. So head stands once again and the two cans are mostly full with two good smells since I added the basil. I'm not quite ready for Wednesday's pickup but it's won't take much more clipping. I'll get there for sure. The somewhat muted colors are turning out to be the star of the garden.
The Autumn Joy and Lantana are continue to spread their beauty in many places in the garden. They both are such great "work horses" in the garden working through lack of watering and neglect. They are winners in my gardening book.
Lantana is a great southern flower lasting through the winner. On a trip to Kenya I saw Lantana used as a hedge more than 6 ft. high and very wide and full of flowers at the site where Out Of Africa was filmed.
. Of course Zinnias continue to show their best colors, just a bit richer with cooler weather and a good drink of water. There are some in the house all the time now. A new bunch came this morning.
Keep your eyes open for lantana in November in Georgia!
