Check that off!
Yes...the furnace guys finished their installation. And today the weather is a bit cooler. Woo.. escaped the bullet on this one. We're toasty warm with what should be a warmer house than in past winters given that the boiler is new and not full of stuff that accumulates over time impeding the heated water. I'm looking forward to a toaster house. There is lots of new bright copper piping that I think needs some Christmas balls hanging from them!
An unexpected yesterday event was making votive candles for the large two-foot Advent candles used in the sanctuary each year. Always needing something and I can say these homemade votive candles work great fitting the tops of those honker-sized candles. They are each 10 lbs of wax poured into PVC pipes coated with candle release. How many have I made? I certainly can't say. We just hope they are not broken when used. It happens. We have a purple set, blue set, and rainbow-colored set of candles.
Late afternoon today it's getting serious time preparing for an all-church decorating session Sunday after the second service. The visual arts team received their instruction last Sunday and tonight before choir we're going to move banners and more for Advent to the areas assigned for decorating. . It's banners and more for the chapel, east hall, sanctuary, west entrance and the job of moving things from the attic to the community room ready for more decorating at the Advent Festival on Dec. 5th. . Lots to think about and organization will help to get the job completed early Sunday afternoon. Hoping for many hands.
Sunday evening it will be packing the car time and off to Georgia Monday morning arriving Tues. afternoon. We have done the trip in one day but it's so much easier to split the trip into two days. The countryside can be seen! Just a little less stress which is a good thing these days.
Remembering an old TV show. I love it when a plan comes together. Put an s on the word plan this time of year.
