A different Sunday
Today, there is a change in the house of worship. A smaller group of singers will be in worship at North which doesn't include us. So...something different for the Russells. Our associate minister before our current one was Ronnie Bell. His current parish is on the east side of Indianapolis. We have not seen him since he left for his current appointment at least two years ago. And this morning we are going to his church. It will be about an hours drive so we're starting out early since the worship service starts at 10 am. Get me to the church on time. Ronnie worked with us at Bread and Bowl. I miss him a whole lot so this will be a reunion Sunday for sure. Yesterday's Bread and Bowl was a great morning. It was bitter cold but folks came and all the food disappeared. In the afternoon I did some Palm Sunday ordering of palm frons and Emerald Palms. Went to Lowes and found small palm trees. I'll buy two but didn't yesterday. They would have frozen on the way to the car. Brr big time. It was scouting for church afternoon which calms my mind when I think of responsibilities that are mine associated with Palm Sun. Holy week and Easter. Got to have ideas in mind where I can find things. Flowers I usually buy at Meijer's for 6.99 were priced at 9.99. I'm hoping Lowes flowers will be the ticket to success.
Basket ball was such a bummer. Indiana University did such a good job but the last 2 minutes were disaster. I think they quit before the buzzer. Hard lesson after so many months of work. But the games have been fun to watch with more to come. Indiana could still make it into the big dance. Purdue has a better chance. They play Iowa for the Big Ten championship this afternoon. Then it's on to the big NCAA time. Duke lost their game. They were just outplayed by Virginia Tech big time.

Now a short note on the pound cake. It's out on the patio and a few more birds have shown some interest. If I make another one it won't be a repeat of this one. It came with such good reviews but not in my book. An answer about the flavor. I can only say the flavor was sweet. Nothing more nothing less. I need to find a better receipe if another urge hits again. Night critters carried some of it away or maybe just sat and ate. Clocks have been changed, Doug is up and soon we will be on the road for a trip east. Ronnie...hwre we come!!!
