Tues. with the girls.

After having babies I returned to teaching about 40 years ago. The four teachers who made up the first-grade team of teachers at Forest Dale at that time have met at least once a month for a meal together even though some of us went to other schools before retirement..  Today a visit time at a near by restaurant. .  My comment was that we rented the table for two hours and it came with food. There is always a lot to talk about family, health, and more.  Hearing each other is always a good thing.  The May date has been set.  I am ready.

Currently, the weather comes with chilly mornings and wordle, coffee and the crossword puzzle.  My wordle streak is continuing having only missed the first one learning the process.  I used the last wordle option this morning, a little scary but the brain came through.  Watching the birds fly in and fly out consumed some time.  The sparrows continue to build their nest in the bluebird houses.  That is a hard one to correct.  The Blues show no interest.

The night's sleep was a good one lasting till 6:30 but continued with surprise napes during the morning.  Woo...my excuse was that Holy Week did wore me out.  Father Brother celebrated his birthday.  We'll leave the number as unlisted.
I headed to the garden to take some flower pictures.
This is a ginger plant with a very tiny red  flower bud at the base of the leaves
It looks like a little red ball.easy to miss. This plants pops up in different places every year.  That happens because ginger is pollinated by ants who help to spread ginger seeds in new places.  I like their endeavors in spreading this plant. Ginger stays low growing.

The Bluebells are stretching up and filling in empty spaces.  They will grow tall between 12 and 18 inches.  When they finish their growing season they melt away to become underground growers ready for more surprises appearances next year.  Zinnias will take their place.

Another first try in the kitchen for supper was preparing my version of asparagus soup taken from google recipes. .It was a winner.   Another green soup was added to split pea, broccoli, and now asparagus.
It's the green growing season, a little pokey with cold temperatures but still causing asparagus to appear.  Adding a little horseradish brought it full circle.

Wordle and crossword puzzles start the day and supper always ends with our favorite card game 3/13.  Then a little TV and I'm off to bed.
