Busy Thursday.
The day began as usual with Crossword and Wordle with both being solved quickly. A little TV and Breakfast and a walk through the garden happened, finding new seedlings emerging. Yeah!
I met Heidi at 9 at church to talk through come coming events that involve visuals. Easter is disappearing and we moved to this coming Sunday's service, the emphasis on caring for the earth. Two new anthems commissioned for us to sing this Sunday supporting the theme will be heard with thank yous given to the Richard and Anna Lee Hamilton fund. The sanctuary reflects a visual bit of an earth theme. Sunday's activities also involve a garden plant swap and here are my contributions.
Two pots of sea oats grass, one pot of Valerian, a medicinal herb whose roots promote sleeping, although it comes in pill form and better regulated, and a large native Indiana plant called a cup plant. So if I take 4 plants, I can come home with 4 other plants if I so choose.
Heidi and I talked through Pentecost Sunday which is the first Sunday in June. A set of 8 red banners came home with me to have a good checking over for any repairs. It will be a red Sunday which brings a lot of excitement to the space. It's the church's birthday and my very favorite celebration Sunday. We will stay red until July!
The afternoon saw some work being done in the garden with two tomato plants in the ground and some cucumbers waiting to be planted. There will be one more tomato planted at some point joining the peppers and the rest of the space will support Monarchs and Swallowtail Butterflies, meaning a whole lot of flowers will fill more places.
The Spectrum fixer spent the whole afternoon, replacing outside wiring and installing a new router. I would say that within the last six months we're had a lot of Spectrum visits, enough to last us for a long time. Almost everything has been on a recycle replacement path. We hope to be problem-free for a very long time.Another choir practice filled the evening rehearsing the two numbers that were commissioned and dedicated to Richard and Anna Lee. It's an unusual feeling to be singing music never sung before by any group. Something grand spanking new. That' is a responsibility that involves doing our best for many reasons. It's been another great day.
Richard Hamilton was our sr. minister for nearly 30 years. Anna Lee Hamilton, his wife was well known in the musical world.
