Soaked to the max on Friday.

The ground is totally saturated.  It's just a big pile of mud with plants trying to find space to grow.  More rain is in the forecast.  The morning started with a trip to the woods.  Yup...one more little animal with four legs and a little bushy tale trapped himself.  Maybe this time it's herself.  That makes five in four days.  Another one was spotted in the tree!  It's the next epidemic.  Beware.  Grab your mask.

When the ground will let me, this fern will be on the way to Michigan                                              to the JB Russell family flowerbed.

Amy stopped by and we had such a great "pastoral" visit.  Lots to talk about some being pastoral and some the other kind.  She loved her dill plants.   I sent her home with a white spider wart plant.  She has a purple on from Charlotte.  Now a white one from Lela!

This picture was taken at the end of the day.                                                                       The flower blooms for one day but there are many buds on each stem of the plant.                                                  Probably enough buds for three weeks on a mature plant.

The birds continue to be in our life.  Yes, all of God's creatures but the Starlings are at the bottom of my list of birds I like. My adjectives include loud, noisy, sloppy, rude selfish, and just huge messy eaters.  The suet comes inside from time to time.  So sorry the Bluebirds and Woodpeckers are doing without suet. They have changed their diet a bit by switching to seed.   So there is food.  I think eating seed is like eating broccoli instead of ice cream.  Suet is the ice cream that the Starlings eat like five  banana split with three kinds of ice cream topped with strawberries!

Yum, yum.  Can't seem to get enough of this delicious treat.  Those are words from the Starlings.                                                Yes a new cake has been inserted into the suet holder.

Now an interesting bird found a Smoke Tree branch to rest on about 10 feet from where I was standing this afternoon.  That being the biggest woodpecker the Piliated.  Did I have my camera?  Of course not.  But I have the memory.

I identified more plants to take to Michigan and one was dug tonight and potted.   This one comes from the coral bell family..There are so many different plants wiin this family all wth beautiful leaves.  Tomorrow I'll dig another one still different.  There will be a whole lot of fun come next weekend with tools and dirt in Michigan!
