A Simpler Day
Woo...I didn't think it could get simpler but it was. It was an early wake-up. Wordle happened. Then crossword puzzle and breakfast on the patio with a whole lot of bird music.
A couple of years old Butterfly Weed plant. The older the prettier. Two didn't appear this year and there are two new first-year plants taking that space. This plant has a wonderful orange color that shouts come on Monarchs. I can take care of your babies. The milkweed is ready.Yes...you guessed it...a picture from last summer. It's a little early yet but I'm ready. Come on friends.
A few plants got a morning drink, The bird bath got filled and then I noticed that there were a few things knocked over and eaten. Not much but Mr. Deer had been around during the night. The tomato plants lost a few leaves.
The day promised to be a warm one but a little cooler than yesterday. Around 10:00 I closed up the house and settled in for some TV. It seems that sleeping goes better with TV and that has been the case all day. It's a simpler day when that happens.
Another great salad supper, this time with bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes with some cucumbers and chives. We skipped the bread part. A great combination on a hot day.
Our 3/13 game has returned and tonight Doug got skunked big time. Poor guy but the truth...low score wins. He didn't have a chance ever to win.
What didn't get a drink in the morning got one in the evening. It's time for a God rain.
Doug had an evening trip to the woods with the 6th baby squirrel. That bunch should be having a ball in the woods. Chipmunks appear to be taking a break. Maybe the word is out about the traps. I think we are down to one adult squirrel currently.
supper looks tasty
