Monday
A pretty little wild flower sending some cheer.
I’m back to the old at-home time almost of waking up. Not 5 but more like 7. That's what happened this morning. I walked over to Jared’s campsite, and we played cards waiting for the boys to wake up. And that happened at 10 am. All three of those guys can sleep. Breakfast was late but good. Practice helps a whole lot when pancake making. I have it figured out. I worked on wordle but todays was a tough one. It’s still not solved and it’s supper time.
Doug and I continue with reading and walking.
A few days ago, I was going to drive into town and the car
battery was dead. Jared jumped the
battery and the car worked again after sitting in the same spot for about a
week with Doug opening and closing the doors.
So this afternoon to keep the battery in a good place we decided to
drive to the Jam Pot for cookies and Thimbleberry Jam. It’s about 15 miles down the road that
boarders Lake Superior. It’s a beautiful
drive and one that Doug loves to drive.
The lake was at its best reflecting the blue from the sky
giving it an even deeper blue color. The
waves were breaking at Great Sand Bay.
The temperature in a perfect place.
It is one of those reasons we come to Copper Harbor.
WELL, the Jam Pot was closed. So I’m anticipating that another day this
week we’ll take another trip down the road to visit the Jam Pot again to keep
the battery happy. Superior will be
enjoyed again no matter the mood.
The rest of the day was reading time sitting in the sun to
stay toasty warm. Doug spent his time
sitting in the shade. His
preference. There is still a lot of
reading to do.
Supper tonight will include hotdogs roasted over the fire by
none other but Jared Russell. Hot dogs
like that are my favorite kind of dog but I’ll include another salad to
accompany the hotdog.
