Tuesday...Play Day

Play day...not an ironing day.  Who irons anymore?

Gone but never forgotten.  In fact there are dead ones on the kitchen table.  I'll keep them for a while.

The temperatures certainly say that something new is in the air.  No humidity for one thing.  So after October comes Nov. and Dec. colder temperatures.  Then comes APRIL.  Spring.  Today the play theme was planning for April with something different.  It was a morning of moving plants to better places.  Over the years they grow and crowd each other to the point there is no room for anyone.  In other places what was interesting now is boring. So it's playing in the dirt time.

There are so many kinds of daisies.  But I think Becky is the best.  Tall sturdy stems with flowers that last forever..  They grow with very little help.

One Becky Daisy group got moved to where the hostas were and they were moved to another bed.  Now the B Daisy in the sun and the Hosta in the shade.  Autumn Joys got moved to where there were other Autumn Joys leaving space for Zinnias.  A couple of plants traded places.  Some Lenten Roses got moved to where some Susans went elsewhere. A Butterfly Bush found a home in the Big Blue.  It had planted itself in the wrong place. It would seem there were musical plants happening with no chairs.

Lenten Roses replanted and waiting for Lent when they bloom even when covered with snow.

Garbage Blues went to the street this afternoon.  Judy's was returned to her driveway full to the top making it a 4 big blue week.  If you have never seen the garden one question could be how in the world from the first of Sept to now could you have so many big blues on the street each week.  Well, drop by and see the space the garden takes.  I must admit that this year because of the long fall the gardens are more than ready for winter. No, ready for spring. It's a great feeling.

This interesting picture is all that is left in the garden.  Four plants made the world a better place. They are making a come back after dealing with the gardener that used roundup at the wrong place at least 10 years ago.  Bad Gardener. .

We had just a smidgin of rain this afternoon.  I was expecting more but cookies happened anyway.  This time with nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves and applesauce.  Fall cookies for sure.

Off to church to meet with the Lydia Circle.  The program was about downsizing.                                                              According to the speaker, I'm doing that already.
