Back home again in Indiana Monday.
Yes, once again an early wake up with the usual eggs for breakfast, restocking the bird food supply in the feeders with the hope they are not too upset with no food the last few days. It was again wordle and crossword time. All successful.
So far, no takers. I predict the chickadee will be first. Their eyes are always open for food. Clean bird bath water and yummy black sunflower seeds in all feeders. What more could they want? Maybe consistency.
As you already know the turkey was especially yummy this year. Maybe the turkey needs to be a big one which it was. This morning I took care of the leftovers of which there were many. It's another soup-making morning with tonight's supper ready to go. Four more containers are ready for the freezer. Just add celery, onions, a little barley, and walla! It's a soup that contains all the extra mashed potatoes, meat, and broth. The corn and lima beans got dumped because there was absolutely no room in the cooler for the trip home. So sad! Three more small bags of meat and broth are ready for the next go-around of soup making. Yum, yum. Such easy meals.Around noon the first birds to show up at the feeder was the Cardinal and next was Mr. Downey and then the word got out. It was a you all come message sent out by someone.. They are back having their own Thanksgiving meal with a whole lot of the food is back thanks. Doug says their food is paid for out of our entertainment budget. I didn't know we had one of those. Later we headed to Wild Birds to restock our birdseed. Always need to have some on the back burner.
Today the coffee maker took 45 minutes to do it's thing. Times up Mr. Coffee. So to Kohls for a solution. I had wanted a Ninga maker but the many models available did not fill the bill. So back to Mr. Coffee we made our way. This one has a need to clean light and directions and that's really all I wanted. Doug and I each have one cup a day. You might say we're poor drinkers. So Mr. Coffee is now on the counter filling the need. Big purchase.
But an even bigger purchase is a new Odessy now in the garage. We ordered this one in the summer and finally, it's here. Not nine months in the making but certainly more than we expected. I would think that ours is the only red Odessy in Hamilton and Marion County. At least I haven't seen any other one. I took this picture at the dealer as it was parked in the lot. Why such a big car for two oldsters? The one and the only reason is that we're campers. It takes something big for all of our gear! So most of the year the back seat is empty! Another huge transaction for the day. I'm bushed!
Yes, it's redMonday night football coming up with the Colts and Steelers. We might have a chance since the Steelers aren't doing so well. Humm...neither are we come to think of it. Toss up coming.
