Saturday, the sixth day of the work week!
I added another work day to the week as you can see. More about that in a bit. It was another early morning with all the usual. I finished the crossword and wordle and all the morning stuff allowing me to leave for Bread and Bowl at my usual 8:30 time.
It was a busy morning again with plenty of good workers that took away a whole lot of get-ready pressure. It's wonderful to have time to just sit and visit with each other. That happened and one of the topics was Methodists in India. I learned a whole lot. It was time well spent. Yes, Suneil and Lois were there.
Saturdays have been not so busy and we've reduced the order of food by one pan now getting 4 from Second Helpings. The crowd was bigger for today but another one of those miracles happened with the last plate of food taken by the last visitor near 12 o'clock. The carry-outs were ALL carried out. Another great happening meaning that we threw away NO food.
I headed home and true to many B and B Saturdays a long sleep happened preparing me for the rest of the day. I decided Friday that by Sunday all the quilts would be knotted.
Knotting time.. By watching basketball this afternoon the goal was met today instead of tomorrow. The crib blankets are finished. You will not be hearing about them until they are given away.
Count them...there are seven.
In the coming week, there will be more bibs coming. I love making them by using smaller scraps of fabric that would otherwise be useless. This bib was put together this morning.. I've got it all figured out! One layer of fleece will give the bib enough thickness. The leftover fleece from the blankets will fill that need. Use it or lose it!
I'll need to buy buttons and make button holes but that will happen when I have a stack of bibs.
This afternoon I took a walk around the house and found Autumn Joy succulents showing green.
Sewing is one of the messiest jobs I think one can tackle. So today it was sweeper time. So many snippets of thread everywhere. The bottoms of my black socks are covered very color of thread imaginable. They even collected frayed fabric threads. I even plugged up the sweeper. But the floor is clean again. Woo. It's been a messy week.
I sure was surprised when I took off these socks. Grundy but colorful for sure. The girls continue to carry on as best they can.
Tulip looks a bit haggard..
The Michigan Russells are getting g at least 6 inches of snow tonight. I'm pleading for those challenge entries The Michigan kids show no interest. Bummer on them. It looks like a little nose job might be in order.
