Sunday.
Woo...another sleep in till almost 7. I'll take it. Breakfast and a slow morning made getting ready for church easy.
Today's service was a gift from the women of the church. A message from Amy. She talked a lot about walking and quoted Micah, Walk humbly with your God. Two musical offerings from the women of the choir. The first was an answer to the opening prayer. Day by day, dear Lord, of thee three things I pray. To see thee more clearly, love thee more dearly, follow thee more nearly, day by day. Ushering was done by women as well as the greeters who welcome others to church. It was a worshipful morning. The choir ladies also sang All things bright and beautiful...etc. arranged by Wilberg who directs the Morman Tab. Choir. He also writes a whole lot of great arrangements and accompaniments for church music. His interpretations are wonderful. I could hear the words to the song transported through the strings on the piano. I heard birds, knew the sun was shining, felt like I was seeing ripe fruit in the garden, and loved all of it. There were two plus two hands of Kathleen and Heather at the keyboard creating the pictures. Wilburg knows how to make magic happen.
Speaking of birds or spring or you name it, I found the Lenten Rose in early bud form. I suspect they will be in full bloom by Lent. Daisy and Tulip have been transformed into water at this point. I hope to meet the rest of their family with the next snow event. The Midland Mich. JB Russell area has been transformed into a winter wonderland overnight once again.
I had a long after-church conversation with Jenny CW who works with single mothers of babies from birth to two years old through a wonderful program sponsored by Goodwill. She shared that the program will soon service all of Indiana. Recently 27 more nurses were hired for the program. I have some ideas for sewing projects that they can use for their babies.. The program mentors new mothers for two years with the hope that support is there for those mothers whenever needed, creating a good safe environment for their children. These nurses walk the walk with these mothers. An alternative program to abortion. Mothers know there will be support.
Then I moved on to Darren CW to get a bead on what the service will be for Palm Sunday. This year it will be another Palm Passion Sunday needing a whole lot of visuals for the two services. The scripture is from Matthew. The visuals will support the Holy Week story as it is read. while portions are read.
.This afternoon I worked on baby bibs. They are so cute and will frame those beautiful faces while they wear them. I'm buying buttons tomorrow. I have some Jenny ideas for the Lydia Circle. Oh, dear!!!!
More bibs to come. And also the big Sunday entertainment of course is the winding down of football. The first game not so interesting but rather lopsided. That doesn't hold my attention. My picks for the Super Bowl games are the Eagles of Philly and K City. I'm halfway there at 7:30 pm. 9:30. I'm 100 percent. The Bangels made a valent try for sure.
