A Blustery Saturday, Winnie P. would say.
Yes. it sure is windy. In my growing up home we had a little wall hanging that said...The north wind doth blow and we shall have snow and what will poor robin do poor thing. He'll fly to the barn to keep himself warm and hide his head under his wing, poor thing. And hide his head under his wing. The long term memory is just doing great. And there were lots of barns in the neighborhood which was comforting. Not so here. Our house sits on the site of the barn that was a part of the acreage a long time ago. Maybe that works for 2023.
Another early morning with all the usual get ready for the day stuff. Great breakfast, crossword, wordle, and then the dear blood pressure cuff. I'm adding that to the routine which is making Jared happy when the numbers are good. Not so happy when they are not. I typed up instructions that should help folks understand their part for the Palm/Passion Sunday service. Brandon and Darren will be getting those instructions tomorrow.
At 8:20 I was off to church for Bread and Bowl. The preparation went well with two folks short but a new Andrew. We got things done in good time, really good time so that we could sit a spell.
Liz, Rita, Jack, Sarah Ellen, Andrew and Sylvia. I'm taking the picture. A great gang.
On the way north toward home there were a bunch of stops along the way. I did some flower shopping but not buying getting a feel for what we will use on the altar Easter Sunday. Sullivans, Rosies, and Ace Hardware got a short visit. A drop of a book in the drop box at the Carmel Library and a stop with a bag of contributions to Goodwill finished off the trip. But first I stopped to see my friend Karen at the Potter's House in Broadripple. She is my Catholic Nun friend who can pray anyone through anything. And I gave her another challenge. She is always up to it. We always have such a good time visiting. She is one busy potter who has overcome many health obstacles giving us much in common.
The rest of the afternoon included a sleep as it usually does when spending the morning at soup kitchen. TV time happened between naps. The squirrel got chased off the bird feeders and the birds were in short supply because of the blustery weather. Way to swift even for a kite.
More NCAA in the evening with two games this time taking us to the final two teams that meet Monday Evening. It's down to the wire time. It's been another great day of ministry with the hope of making a difference in the lives of those who live in the church neighborhood.
