 An experience I could do without.  Sometimes there is no choice.  So a few details.  Last night as usual in bed by 10 which started with a good sleep.  By 11 I was wide awake with a chest that felt like a blood pressure cuff was doing a squeeze job under my sternum.  Bummer.  A decision to head North again was made with the results being, NO results.  Two nitroglycerin pills fixed the problem and back home again by 3 receiving the emergency room routine that included blood work, chest x-ray, and more.  So there will be follow-up calls next week with a few doctors.  I  will add the blood pressure numbers were over the moon again which might have caused the squeeze feel.  It's time for an answer. 

The first Calendula.  A beautiful yellow with a tinge of orange is found painted on each peddle.  I'm always impressed with how clear and pure-looking Calendula color is expressed. 


So today's activities?  I would say not very many.  The garden is holding steady.  I cut out a few tomato leaves opening up space for the sun.  Then I deadheaded a pot of flowers and watered well the tomatoes, squash, and cucumber plants. Slept a lot and talked to Jared and Kimmy for quite a while.  Easy day for sure.

A few years ago when North Church was experiencing a major remodeling in many areas.  The renewal of a slate roof was one of the items completed.  I asked one of the workers if some slate pieces too damaged to use were available.  The answer...yes.  I painted the slate and hung them in the garden.  Today I redid those slates.  One had the original saying and the other was completely erased with the message forgotten.  So new words happened and the slates have been returned to the fence after years of looking too trashy to hang.  Something different for the day that allowed a bit of creativity.  


Nothing new to report in the butterfly world.  That includes the garden plants with no new caterpillars sighted.  It's pretty quiet although today's temperatures can support butterfly movement.  One of the common milkweed flowers attracted a honey bee that I found interesting.  The wing construction is awesome.  


Another day observing interesting gifts found in nature. Once again feeling gratitude for those working in the health field.  Thanks be to God.

                                   A nice ending to an interesting day.  Fresh flowers are always refreshing.  I woulad call this a little crazy day.  Meaning the unexpected was part of the morning.  But first... A great night of sleep again thinking it was six o'clock when it really was seven.  Now an extra hour of sleep never hurt anyone.  There was breakfast of course with a little TV. Yesterday I finished sewing and turning 30 burps, so the order of the morning was to iron all of them with top stitching in mind at some point. And there was time to iron all 30.             I did some straw flower seed saving.  It's a repeat of last fall that worked well this spring. Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

 The morning started off with breakfast and then a trip with Eric to Nora where he catches the bus to Indy.  I always love these trips in the winter often accompanied with a beautiful winter sun rise.  The morning light was coming through but it will be even better in another month.  I have taken some beautiful pictures in the early morning.   Home again and I did some sewing and some knitting.  The usual stuff that seems to be the winter work.  Ten more burps and I finished another scarf, one that could have been finished yesterday.  I was thinking no rush which is really true.  There is no rush. All the ripped fabric has been sewn so it would seem new ripping will happen soon. This noon was our first North Side North Church noon lunch instead of supper.  No driving in the dark for three months.  There were eleven of us, a smaller group but we all sat around one long table which was really nice.  And there was so much tal...
