Monday
Yes a holiday but when one is retired everyday could be called a holiday. The morning was slow and cold and damp and wet. But it got better when I decided to close the windows and put on a jacket. That helped a great deal. And the windows stayed closed, and the jacket stayed on until early afternoon.
I worked on filling the Noah Pond experiencing some ups and downs. That job always has a learning curve. And after a big hitch I was on my way to success.
Doug and I went to Rosie's to get some pond plants and I would say the final report for pond completion met with success.
Clean water with the solar bubbler working for the third year. Fish? The jury is out for now.A walk through the yard once again told me that the very old but very beautiful clematis is once again doing its thing. Blossoms are everywhere from top to bottom and side to side.
There's a Marigold from seed which I hope is orange but if yellow that's fine. Then a nasturtium from seed, Dusty Miller from the church swap, the Lantana and then the big purple thing that I dug out of another pot. It being the wrong color for that pot of flowers. It's better here. The last thing is artemisia which I dug out of the garden. In a few weeks this thing will be overflowing. The purple was replaced with a tiny eucalyptus plant. I remember seeing eucalyptus farms in California. A great memory.
A few basils were moved being big enough and another small pot was planted for the patio with parsley and one basil plant. Closer to the kitchen is my reason when I want to be a lazy cook.
I would say I won't be using these for a few weeks. Parsley in my eggs would be a good thing. And closer to the kitchen is even better.
True to form the second egg has appeared right on schedule. It's a remarkable thing that a tiny bird can make an egg in one day, but you know...good chickens do that all the time. It's still remarkable in my book.
Two blues. I'll be checking for three tomorrow. The Carolina Wren is busy keeping her eggs warm. I tried to get a picture of her doing that, but she scrambled right out the front door. I was at the back door. I'll keep trying with the hope that she's napping while I'm photographing.
The Pacers play game 4 tonight. I think it's going to be 0 for us and the Celts 4. It could be the same for the Timber Wolves 0 and Mavericks 4. The paper declared that the Pacers are a good team but just not good enough. We'll find out tonight for sure. There is always next year.
great pot for the orange chair. Purple and orange are definitely the combo!
