Sunday

Church morning and arriving at church early today was very important.  We wanted front seats in Fellowship Hall for the annual children's musical.  It's a mother's day event since 1971.  Covid took out a few years but not many.  So off to church and sitting on the front row was a reality once again.  The kids were awesome under the direction of Denise and Rosie with music and script well in hand.  Denise has written these musicals for many years.

My friend Logan is a first  grade student and my very good church buddy.  We look for each other every Sunday. Logan is standing in the middle of his group of friends with the gray shirt.

The 11 o'clock service followed as usual and then we made a point of leaving church with not much after church visiting.  We were invited to the neighbors for a cookout lunch.  Won. The corn on the cob was wonderful.  It was interesting to eat someone else's cooking.  Bill is a spicer and there was plenty of that to go around.  My mouth was hot ! We had a wonderful visit with Kathy's mother in her 90's as well as her grandsons.  The meal ended with cake, icecream and strawberries.  Yum, yum.

This little beauty just appeared a couple of years ago.  I have no idea what it is.  None what so ever.

We hiked back home to watch the Pacers win a fabulous game with the Nicks.  It's a tied series with the last game in New York.  There was some unexpected napping and then out to the garden with the watering can.  It should rain tomorrow but today's watering should be the trick that will hole everything over till tomorrow.

France Williams Hosta.  So pretty with a beautiful gray blue color but burns so easily even in the shade.

There was facetime with Jared and Kimmy and the up north grandsons.  Eric stopped over later in the afternoon.

Kat has a few Flamingos at her door and these two have arrived at my house for a new spruced up pink color.  I'll get that on the to do list for this week.
Lettuce in the garden is ready for eating.  Monday there will be a salad for supper.

Some string cheese and a little cottage cheese was a quick snack for supper and then time was spent with the library books, TV and you guessed it...another nap.  The end of a good Mother's Day 2024.
