Saturday

Mock Quince blooming today.  This is crazy weather but I'll take it.

Today is another day I lived in the pokey box.  Not too much going on.  I kept it that way.  Sleepless in Seattle didn't happen.  It happened in Carmel last night.  So, I used it to sleep this morning and afternoon, watch TV and do a bit of sewing burps.  Patty called and we made final plans to attend the Umoja dinner/fund raiser tomorrow evening.  That should be a lot of fun.

                                                        Sitting on the kitchen counter.

I'm a little uneasy about my sewing machine.  It seems to want to do some unusual sewing.  Knowing how old it is and the hours I spent with it this past year or so might tell me something. It has an appointment for some major overhauling at the beginning of January, it is really showing its age again just like a few other things at this address.  I may need to hang it up for a while unless I can remedy the problem.  I'll admit that it was scheduled for a checkup about a year ago, but I forgot all about it.  They don't call with reminders like the doctor's office does.  Big Bummer.  I need all the help I can muster.

Cleome still looking good.  It's a tough but delicate self seeding flower.

wanted to walk around the block but decided that the temperature needed to be a little warmer.  So that turned into a bust.  I need to visit the Y and the Monon again.  The last visit was before Covid.  The Y would be the treadmill and the Monon would be the walking area.  Moving is what living is all about.

I did take a look outside with the clippers and got some great flowers for in the house.  There were a host of flowers still blooming that are posted today.  It's almost Dec. and no killing frost.  What a difference that makes.

                                                            Marigolds are blooming again.

I did a little football watching wondering what Ohio State was going to do.  They play IU next week.  Should I be worried?  Probably just a tad if worrying will help IU.  Today's game was with Northwest which has a good team but not good enough for a win.

Rita game me a huge bunch of beautiful zinnias a couple of weeks ago.  Some have dried.  A few are on the way.  I always keep a last bunch of zinnias till spring in all their ugliness knowing that the peddles hold a seed and when planted next year something beautiful will be with the world again. Hope and surprises are waiting.

I'm looking forward to another quiet evening.  Purdue is waiting for me to watch. Tomorrow is church day.  The Nativities are leaving the attic!
