Saturday

Ready for the day with Beethoven running through my head after listening to Concerto no. 5 last night.  Midafternoon and it's still with me.  And yes Dee.  Then there's Brahams.  Bob Schilling, our former minister of music for many years at North shared that if all music was destroyed with only one saved, he would want that one to be the Braham's Requiem.  I would say the same. It touches the heart like no other piece of music.

So, the morning started with working at church.  We had a good crew, but the refrigerator was stuffed with donated food.  About twice as much as we usually have donated so there was work to do.  Thank goodness there was sitting time before we opened at 11.  The crowd was big, and the food lasted for all to have a good meal and a take home bag full for almost all.  I was one tired pup.

Two great friends and two great workers at church this morning.  Dino and Sarah Ellen.

I had a bowl of cereal for lunch discovering that the milk was sour.  Uck.  Then I tried some roman noodles.  Not so bad but not very good either.  I gave up and turned to football with Ohio State and Purdue.  Purdue didn't fare so well.  And I fell asleep so perhaps I can claim I used my time well.  Since I spent my first 24 years as a Buckeye before moving to Hoosier land, I get to claim Ohio State as my team when I want to. I always make up new rules.

I saw Ginni at church this morning and she is ready for the next 200 burps. I'll need to load them in the car.  A regional meeting will see lots of Goodwill nurses attending and there will be a distribution of burps where needed.  This afternoon I continued the cutting job with enough burps cut to make more than 25 burp catchers.  I sewed two and left the rest for another day.  Ginni's morning included graduation for over 50 mothers who have been followed for three years.  She said the next graduation will include 100 mothers.  Families with new babies are being nurtured and cared for. The program keeps growing.

Number one and two toward the next 100.  I stopped at two.

I U is playing Michigan today.  I think it is going pretty good for I U.  I U has a super team this year.  After 3 pm I kicked the Buckeye thing and became a Hoosier.  There's a new rule. Be who you want to be.  And we won another game.

It's been a rather dark and dank looking day.  I told Stella there would be no walk today since I really received all the exercise I needed this morning.  My back was telling me to be still.  So, I listened.  I ended the evening with hearing the Brahams Requiem and at times singing along with the altos.  What a blessing. A time of worship and of peace.

  1. It's always fun working with you. . . and Dino too, for that matter - and the rest of the team as well! ! !
