Heidi's fall window at church.
This post is coming a little later than usual. I planned to write it early evening but something else got in the way. Talk about surprises. Another one came my way. Forget about planning is my mantra.
So the morning started a little crazy with wanting to do something. So I melted candles. After our church pillar candles burn, they look like this.
Then the wicks and flames are no longer very evident. If I turn the candle upside down in a double boiler sort of set up and melt the tops down they are useable again when needed at church. I did 12 this morning and took them to church. It seems I was up early again!
I used the left over wax to seal sone of my gourd bowls to make them water proof.
And once again another All Saints Celebration happened. The music was wonderful. The preaching right on and visiting with friends and new folks was just a really good experience. It was another communion Sunday.
We did some cleaning up of candles and sand after church and Heidi will finish up this week.
I have a church friend Joe who on occasion has some mending for me to do. Today was one of those days and early afternoon I turned on the machine and figured out how to make another repair. Joe's a great friend.
All fixed and ready to return.
I brought more candles home to rejuvenate that we used today. Church work just never is over.
More to do hopefully this week.
I worked hard at eating more food again today. I finally got vegetables cut up for Georgia Chili.
Then it all went in the soup pot cooking away and finally into the refrigerator cooling off to slip into the freezer tomorrow. Done. There is some darn good-looking veggies on their way to soup.
Garden peppers, celery, onions, garlic, two kinds of tomatoes, V8 Juice, ground turkey. I think that's it.
Soon after the soup was finished, I began feeling a bit ill thinking I was going to fall among a few other disturbing symptoms. So, at some point I said we're going to I U North. I just hate doing that, but it was the right thing to do. I've learned that old ladies, of which I am one, present their illnesses in strange ways. The simple answer is I have an UTI. That was a big surprise but one of the byproducts that can occur with the current cancer medication. I am not a good caretaker of myself is my assessment. So, once again I will make drug store purchases tomorrow. I'm on the way to eliminating this UTI by way of an IV with medication received at the hospital. It will need a little more help. Thanks be to God and I U North's people. I am so fortunate.
I talked about surprises in a post a few days ago. Well, one came along tonight. It's another chance to go with the flow.
The Georgia chili looks good. Yum, yum. And I hope the new medicine wipes out the infection quickly. And it's not only old ladies who present their illnesses in strange ways - I believe that is true also for old gentlemen (of which I am one).
