Tuesday.
A good sleep last night and I am grateful. And my goal for the day was to get going on all the stuff that needed to be done. So here goes.
1. A trip to 103rd I U Medical building where I would report diabetic numbers for the last two weeks. We're trying a new approach to diabetes since I've lost weight. Dr. Baker will determine the path ahead. That was a successful trip but reminded me of yesterday's waiting times once again.
2. Then on to I U North to schedule more appointments at the Schwartz C Center. That was a bust. All of what needed to happen had to be done by phone. And the two calls I was waiting for never came. Maybe tomorrow. That joins the bummer list for the day.
Just outside the Schwarz center sits a little boy. He is Mr. Schwarz as a child shining shoes in all kinds of weather.. It would seem that he found a better way to make money as he grew older. He contracted cancer and upon his death the family made funds available to build the cancer center named in his honor at I U North.3. On to Kathy O's with containers to start Daliah for next spring. Success. I quietly put them on the screened in porch and left. If I had said hello, I would have talked for an hour. No talking...that pointed to success.
4. Then to the bank. That was a success. They took my money.
5. My goodness. Close to the bank...real close is Goodwill. Who would have thought I could pass that one up. No flannel sheets but I did find some 2.00 reindeer tights and a really warm pretty sweater. Both are on me right now. BIG SUCCESS
A leg and a little bit of the top. They will keep me warm.6. Home. Success
Five out of six. Not bad for a Tuesday morning of stuff accomplished.
This afternoon I confused myself by making two posts for Advent Candle making. There was a Tues and a Thursday posting for the same candle. Seems that Heidi will be with me on Thursday. The delicious chicken soup will wait until Thursday for her. I'll be eating the soup set aside for me. Because of remodeling a kitchen, there is no kitchen but a microwave until February. So. the afternoon was mine to do whatever I wanted to do. No candle fixing on this day. Thursday isn't far away.
Four containers...Two for me and two for Heidi.A few weeks ago I made some wool mushrooms for a fund raiser for the Umoja Project. Sunday night I will attend a Thanksgiving supper with a huge silent auction raising money for that project in western Kenya. The Kenyan co chair of the project is here for that event and spoke to our North dinner group at MCL. As a gift I decided she needed her own mushroom to take back to Kenya. So I did some stitching, stuffing and glueing and pulled one together. I found an African card that the folks signed reminding her of the evening we spent together.
Garden Art for Linda or perhaps a pin cushion for a sewer. I've seen both. Then it was off to supper with the North Crew for another evening of being together this time at MCL.
So another busy day with miles to go before I sleep. Tomorrow a haircut and that all that is on the calendar. Humm...if it's just a tad warmer I could cut tall grasses. That's one last thing to complete in the garden.
I hope the tights and sweater are coming to Georgia. They will be great to wear shopping! ! !
