Monday
I will admit and I'm sure you can tell that I took very few pictures today. My mind was elsewhere.
I made it an easy morning after a night of practically no sleep. Well, there was a bit between the hours of 3 to 6. It was a big surprise and one that perhaps some hidden stress surfaced unexpectedly. Anyway, the morning was easy with more reading. I read more with writer Anne Lamott that I started during the night.
I promised a picture of Mirror Mary.I made a decision to get to the Y mid-morning to see what was up with my membership. I stopped going to the Y during Covid. To renew, my old membership I went through all the hoops just right and I was a go. Doug had some trouble, but he became a go person in the afternoon. So, we now have a place to walk during the winter. The parking lot was full this morning reminding me that a great time for old folks at the Y is the afternoon around 2. Men are at work and Ladies are home with their babies waiting for the school bus. We'll see how that works now. My goal is at least 3 times a week of walking at the Y. I'm thinking about signing up for a fitness program for folks with cancer. Rita did this a while ago and felt it was worthwhile.
Another song of my childhood.
The afternoon was filled with the Pet Scan conversation with Dr. Schneider. The report was a good one with the bone cancer spot responding to treatment. It was a huge YAHOO! There will be another Pet Scan in two months for more checking. That beat will continue. There are cancer cells throughout the blood system having a great swim. The hope is they keep swimming. No stopping to hook on to something. And if they do stop the scan will show where they are. I will continue the current medication until it stops working. It's a crazy world going on inside of me. I'm trying to get acquainted with it.
Andrew is working tonight and tomorrow night, so we picked up Eric in Broad Ripple to complete his move home. The bus takes him from downtown to that bus stop. Another pick up tomorrow night. Kat continues to heal from her foot surgery but is not driving. That should happen sometime in January.
The evening sky on our way to Broad Ripple at 5:15 pm I love to see the tree "bones".A delicious supper of split pea soup with sausage. It would seem that my appetite is coming back. I'll take it. Football night in America and then I pray a night of sleep.
whew - we can breathe a little easier after the PET scan news - you're right: just keep on swinning, baby Norberts!
