Sunday
Of course Sunday follows Saturday and of course it's church day. The church is filling a little more each Sunday as we near Christmas and today was another example of that. The children sang, the choir sang and there seemed to be more music for the congregation to sing. And it's very apparent that we have a wonderful singing congregation. There are very few listeners.
I could get all of them in the picture from where I was sitting but you get the idea. They were on it! Grandparents and parents...all up front and visible. That is certainly appropriate. These children are from Kindergarten age to second grade. Tall Logan is my special friend. He comes from a family of very tall parents and siblings. Dad sings in the choir, and two of his siblings are in the Indianapolis Children's Choir, both in highschool. Logan will be just like them. This is Darren's first sermon since having surgery for a very large kidney stone and getting that stone out seems to have lit the fire for today's sermon. Read Luke 3 7-18 to discover John the Baptist's sermon. Woo. Words are a bit strong with You brood of vipers! as an example. John was uniquely John.
You see all of them during their rehearsal time before the service. There were a few new young couples at church some with a third Sunday of attendance. It's a good feeling to welcome them having time to become a bit more acquainted. I look forward to seeing them each Sunday.
Home for lunch and the start of a football afternoon. Later in the afternoon a visit to the library happened returning two books about cancer and picking up twelve books with assorted topics. Two books about cancer by Miller and Camp with information about hormone therapy, one Anne Lamott book Traveling Mercies, and a huge stack of gardening books.
My handy, dandy book carrier with wheels once held medicine taken for preparation for my first cancer surgery. It's just the best little helper now with books teaching me more than I hope ever to need. This cancer book is written by two doctors from John Hopkins in Baltimore. The cancer topic is more than huge and finding information comes in bits and pieces. I'm still looking for another recommended cancer book which I hope will be at the library tomorrow. I'm learning a whole lot with a feeling of treatment assurance that's good.
There was Colts football with some good play and some careless play. I call it a nail bitter. Come on guys.
Tomorrow I'm stopping at the Y to check on what I need to do to walk the walking machine. (I have chemo brain with no chemo) It happens! Life goes on and oops...TREADMILL machine!
So it was an easy day anticipating the time with Dr. Schneider tomorrow afternoon hearing about the Pet Scan and what it had to tell us.
