Tuesday
Another wonderful day in the neighborhood and around the town. It started off easy with an early wake up with coffee and a banana. I promised to meet Heidi at church to work on a few things like perking up all the angels, 10 to be exact in the west entrance. So off to church making the 9:30 time. She beat me there and started the work. We added a few things like ribbon and gold eucalyptuses and the effect is pretty jazzy. And of course, I took pictures but not of that area. Cross my heart there will be some taken when I'm back at church.
Other places in the church have a fresh feel and that is what we needed. There is a little tradition but not all tradition. Something new makes one see in fresh ways.
This year we have a tree in the narthex in the area leading to the balcony. Yes, we have many nativity sets people have seen for a few years but...this year the tree is covered with ornaments that have pictures of Bethlehem and the Holy Family. These ornaments are also part of the gift that came from the Delongs. Their contribution started the practice of displaying nativities during Advent and Christmas Tide at North years and years ago. I think this is the first time to see the ornaments for young and old folks.
It's been a very long time since a tree has appeared in or near the sanctuary space. This year it has happened because we are using the nativity tree ornaments. There are many. How many? I don't know. After all the stuff found their place back in storage until repacking in January, I was on my way home for a short lunch and it was on the road again. I had some medical questions for my Primary doctor that I have not seen for a while. Questions were answered, blood was drawn and we're working on the Potassium and Magnesium deficiencies. Little by little we'll get that corrected. They both control heart rhythm. I need P and M to be correct. A good side effect is sleep! I'm ready for that. That visit and blood raw took up about half of the afternoon. Onward and forward. No time for anything else.
The other half was spent at Wild Birds. I could stay in the store looking at everything at least three times. And I did. A new peanut feeder is hanging up with the rest of the feeders and tomorrow I plan to do a little more with feeders we have in the garage. I'd love a new finch feeder with screen but I need to save my pennies. Well, maybe quarters. Half dollars if I had any.
Waiting for more birds. It will happen in the morning for sure.Supper was good old warmed over corn chowder. I hope it's as good as Kimmy declared while eating it. Yes, I'll add a little cheese like she did. Calories are what I need. Late news...it was good.
Another quiet evening is planned. And that's it for December 3 2024 folks. Looking forward to tomorrow and the Pet Scan. I need to check the answering machine for the latest instructions.
