Tuesday
After working at church yesterday, I decided that today would be an easy day. Well, I blew it. Talk about falling off the train. That happened and I have no one to blame but myself. But...I accomplished a few things today. I like that.
One of the first things I did was to check the front porch to see if my Kisqali medication for another month of cancer treatments had arrived. AND IT HAD! How fortunate. It gets a very early delivery usually before 8 am. The day started on a very good note.
The succulents returned home after their job in the church Gathering Center was completed. They fared quite well making their contribution. The Christmas Cactus stayed home. They forgot to bloom this year. Dah!I've been thinking for some time about cleaning my coat closet. At least checking it out making it a little neater. Humm. One thing led to another. I guess I should have expected that. The boxes holding the Christmas ornaments were on the shelf and I thought maybe it was time to collect them. So, I did from every spot in the house. They are on windowsills, tables, hanging from lights and more. That happens when there is no tree. Then I decided to sort through the ornaments and throw out what had no special meaning to me. So, I did. The tree of many years ago, was stored in the closet so that got contributed to the big blue. Hangers were everywhere so some got pitched and others were kept. All of my winter coats, jackets and sweaters were looked at and organized. My hope is that soon, two of the wool coats will become part of a braided rug that's been in the works for some time. Well, I guess there is more work to cleaning a closet than I had remembered.
That took me upstairs because some of the stuff would be stored in another closet. You guessed it. Another closet got rummaged through. I need to see what I can stash at Goodwill. There is no need to have so many things when one can only wear one thing at a time. That's another job at some point soon. I think I am finished with closet cleaning. Maybe.
A new arrangement on the shelves, finalized this morning. Mr. Claus lost his position and was replaced by Mr. Snow Man. A few other things found new places. So I quit around 1pm with lunch and another one of those long chair naps. My pelvic bone gets a little sore when I'm pretty active and I've discovered once again the rice bag and the microwave. How sweet is that. I'm "watching the Michigan Alabama football game. It's really a good one when I'm awake. The heat is doing its fixing job when I'm on the chair awake or asleep.
The Michigan Potters often go through this collection that Dennis produced, measuring and taking pictures. That happened again during this visit with some new ideas spun from this kind of exercise. The Michigan Potters also have their own Dennis collection bigger than mine.I did a Kimmy thing this morning. I have a little microwave oven. It has gone camping with us for at least 15 or more years. It's main job for me is to warm coffee in the afternoon and soup for supper. There are little rust spots in the door and today I wondered why I hadn't fixed that. Now here's the Kimmy thing. I got a little paint, scrubbed the door clean and dabbed paint on all the bad spots. It looks great. That girl inspired me even when she's nowhere close.
I made some changes with the table Christmas Tree. It has a new look, don't you think?
Once again, it's been raining a whole lot today. I made a trip outside during one of the breaks to gather pinecones. I washed them well and then put them on a cookie sheet and into the oven on low heat. They smell so good and when dry and open I'll spread outdated, over the hill peanut butter on them. The last 4 pinecones that I did seem to be a treat for the night visitors.
When completely dry the cones will all be open.
