Friday
The end of another day and not long for the end to another week. Today had its good parts and its bad parts. It had something to do with health forms this time. No additional health issues. I guess that fact could be put in the good box. But don't include forms for this old hen. More to come.
There was breakfast, Star newspaper, coffee, continued knitting and then a good bit of sewing, adding burps to show for the morning. That was the good part.
Bands of color. I owe the Lord a Morning song, of gratitude. My mother's song often heard. The horrible terrible very bad part of the day started around 11:30 with hunting for the forms on the computer to renew the program that brings me Kisqali for another year. And the hoops to get to a successful end were just too many to deal with. In fact, around 2:30, I packed up information I thought I needed and went to see Kathy O. What an angel I have in her friendship. She made me a cup of tea and set me on a chair beside her and success came through for us. The correct financial aid forms were found and filled out. The next step will happen Monday taking them to the Simon Cancer Center for more information added by the doctor. The papers will be sent on to another office in Plainfield and at some point, we'll know what the financial aid will be. I felt like a truck drove over me, but Kathy made survival possible. I'm so blessed to have Kathy. I would like say the memory of e a long frustrating early afternoon should be sent to the land of the lost. All forgotten but Kathy.
There was a lot of wax melting preparation in the morning and actual melting late afternoon and after supper. All the used-up candles I brought home yesterday are in a better useable form. In March an evening service will be offered at North honoring the environment using no electrical lighting. I think the refurbished candles will come in handy.
Yes, yet another new candle picture. I found more to melt yesterday still at church. Never ever, ever, ever throw a used candle away. Save it. Save it. That seems to be the word a lot of folks heard at some point. My thinking is that I'm saving the church a lot of money!
Supper was pancakes with blueberries and wonderful grapes. It was a great throwback memory to our many camping breakfasts under the blue and yellow awning with the family.
So yummy and the supper hour filled with memories. Got to love that syrup.
After the dishes were washed, I took more time to do a clean out of the refrigerator dumping many scarcely filled soup containers. There is more in the freezer that should take care of next week. This morning's paper had a wonderful collection of soup ideas. I hope to use some.
So today is pretty well spent. In some respects, the bad was really bad. Thinking at times is a bit difficult, It's not chemo brain because there is no chemo, but I think there could be Kisqali brain. Trying to understand the computer isn't easy. And the form I needed was nowhere to be found but instantly came up on Kathy's computer. How does that happen? Go figure. Tomorrow is soup kitchen morning. More good church friends will feed the hungry trying to make life better for others just as Kathy did for me.
Day is dying in the west. Heaven is touching earth with rest. Another song from childhood.
Don't worry, Lela, computers love to play games with us. They can be remarkable resistant and then suddently turn around to be easy and docile. It is good to have friends help us out to tame those resistant computer programs. And I am saving candles for you (And clumps of wax). I will mail some to you soon - and keep on collecting. On February 2 (Feast of the Presentation of the Lord) we will have a procession around our cloister with candles - and we will have extra guests. So, we will end up with a nice bunch of used candles, some of which I will send your way.
ReplyDeleteWell, my friend, sometimes God sends the angels to us, and sometimes he sends us to be the angel. He has sent you to be my angelSOOO many times. I’m glad he sent me this once.
