Friday
So what did I do today. Somethings somehow slip out of my mind soon after they happens. Bummer. But...I remember I got up. Same old same old with breakfast, bird watching, paper fetching and coffee drinking. Same old same old for sure.
I decided to do some phone stuff. I'm way past my yearly eye exam and was going to take that even farther but then my eyes started to spill over with tears. I googled some and information said that can be a cancer side effect for some folks. So that got me thinking that I'd better see what's going on. And that appointment will come in the middle of March.
I received a phone call from Kaylee, the pharmacist at I U Simon Cancer Center. She was checking to see if I was getting my medicine and my answer was yes, I think the supplier has found me. I was wondering for a while. Knowing they care gives me comfort. I think I'm plugged into the supplier with the help of Dr. Schnieder's nurse Julie. That's my guess. It all got on the plus side after talking to her.
I got a second and third text from Mass. Road folks saying we needed to pay a fee one gets when going through an automatic license plate scanner usually when one crosses a long bridge. Well, we've never been in that state so that's going to be ignored. They stated we would be fined and stopped by the police! We're not paying. Maybe they need a new scanner.
There was knitting and lacing again. I'll finish another scarf tonight.
Here's the bacon!
There was liver and onions and bacon for super. There will be more liver dinners but less liver and I'm sure Doug would like more bacon. It was a delicious meal we both liked.
Doug said they had this meal most Saturday nights after shopping at city market for fresh liver. Ethel Mae left out the onions. We had onions but left out the bacon. The only time we had liver was when a beef heifer was butchered.
I talked to Heidi discussing altar possibilities for the next two weeks. No one has signed up for altar flowers and Heidi really want's something in that space. Tomorrow, I'll see her at soup kitchen and then we'll get that act together. Keep it fresh I hear whispered in my ear by Doris. I'm thinking vases of pinecones mixed with red berries. That's one of the ideas. We did that with shells and there was a whole lot of talk. There is usually a very, very quiet alter acknowledgement by folks, but the shells were well noted. We need small and large cones. There are large cones at church. I went to the yard and picked up a few small cones. They are drying out and will open up in the oven at 200 degrees making the house smell wonderful.
They will be ready later tonight. The smell is wonderful. Try it.
So, I remembered a few things and probably a few things were forgotten. Life does that to minds and I can live with it. There will always be someone to fill in the blanks and do the forgotten important things that need to be done. I call those people, family. Sometimes the family is small and sometimes not. It is what it is. Thanks be to God. Now back to knitting. I'll have more give aways soon.
I remember liver and bacon on Friday nights. (But we only had it one night a week.) But Doug may be right because the market trip was on Saturday. Your pictures made my mouth water. Calves' liver.
ReplyDeleteThe Massachusetts thing may be a scam just eager to have you pay a fee online. The state of Massachusetts may have nothing to do with this, but some internet scammer.
