Sunday
A wake up at 6:30. That's getting on the late side but 7 am wouldn't be bad at all. It's another church day. It started with an overnight snowfall that we awoke to, helping to start another winter morning. Retrieving the paper was a bit interesting. It was delivered before the snowfall started so it was pretty well covered giving me a where's Waldo feeling. Which white bump covered the paper?
There was bird watching. The Starlings were a pain pushing each other off the peanut feeder. I tried another thing to discourage them, but it didn't work. The B Birds food order was delivered to their restaurant and the Starlings thought they could move right in for a meal. That was impossible. When we came home from church, I just took the peanut feeder down. I would have liked to have seen better manners at the table. That cleared the scenery of Starlings immediately. I just wasn't very patient.
Mr. Robin along with his Starling buddies sit on top of the B Bird feeder. There is a bar half way between the top and bottom of the feeder making the way in about an inch high. Big enough for B Birds. Mr. and the Starlings are out of luck.
Six people joined church this morning. The choir sang in the chancel area. It looked like there were too many folks for the choir loft. They were spread across the whole front of the sanctuary.
I couldn't get all the singers in the picture. I miss them a whole lot.
The children sang an anthem and the sermon was based on the story of Rahab. A sermon of redemption I would say. It was good church.Darren needed a stole repair so that came home with me. He was about to lose a tassel and before it completely disintegrated, I put it back together. Tassels are impossible to match, and it was mended in the afternoon before completely gone.
Not perfect but a pretty good match with embroidery thread from my stash. As long as it hangs together, it's a success. The TV shared some great ball games all afternoon. And knitting carried on through all of that. The little engine carrying the last scarf is not quite ready to chug into the station but it's getting close. After the box is sent, I have no valid excuse to put off rug making. I would say I can knit without a whole lot of thinking. I can't rug make in the same way. It's think, adjust and then think all over again after each lacing. There is a lot of that. It could be a good thing for my brain come to think about it.
The evening was pretty simple, and the coming week looked the same. I see Dr. Schneider again on Monday with a few questions. Doug gets his B 12 shot on Tuesday and so far, that's all that is on the calendar. It looks like a keep it simple sweetie week. But is there a guarantee? Not that I know of. If the weather cooperates, I should be harvesting thistles for Lent. Now that's something to think about!
Another Postscript The train chugged into the station after supper and two boxes are filled with 10 scarves. Yes, more than ordered but now the ladies can go shopping. They should be on their way south very soon. F CASS. Your choice about the extras.
I cannot tell which is the new tassel - they are seem to be alike. And I will have fun distributing the scarves. I will see if I can get some pictures to send you. Thanks so much.
