Thursday

My body is still telling me where my legs are. Yikes.  They could be getting old.  You think?

I made the two phone calls I had in mind this morning.  Both were successful.  I have a new Kohl's card activated.  I use it once a year for sock gifts at Xmas. I have an appointment for a pessary insert.  Phone stuff done!  My i phone calendar has been updated making sure all the appointments are listed.  The calendar is filling for the month of March. But the day is ready for me.

After all the inside morning stuff was done, I grabbed the clippers and went outside.  Could that be good for those old legs.  Maybe if I didn't stay on them very long. I'm still feeling many kinks. I am a bit surprised at all the stuff that is lying around.  I thought I did a better cleaning job last fall but there is stuff to do now.  Maybe I just got tired. Maybe things just blew in.

A mess for sure.  I charged up the battery to my new Christmas gift clippers, It was to windy.                  I hope we can cut the ornamental  grass tomorrow.  Raking is ahead for me one of these days.

The herb garden got touched this morning.  I pulled the dead pepper plants. Took care of some mint plants and gave the thyme a trim.  I left the rue alone because it's showing growth at the very top of the plant.  It may get a Rue cut at some point to reduce the size.  Rue makes a good nursery site for butterflies.

It's a very light green but it's green.  There will be more coming along.                                                         When I see where there is no green, that will get a trim.

A few other plants are indicating their roots are waking up.   I need to cut some pussy willow for church. Woo, woo. I call that good thinking about good things.

Last night I finished the reds of many hues with black thrown in, scarf.  Once again, I unrolled the rug, I need to spend some time with it again.

The afternoon brought a windy walk around the big block.  Woo...windy for sure and March isn't even hear yet.  I think it made my legs feel a bit better.

This little guy was still waving to the walkers as I passed by.  He should switch to supporting the Pacers.  Last night there was an awesome game with Toronto.  They have a very good team, one of the best.  Haliburton and his buddies dropped so many three pointers.  Woo.  Fun to watch and the guys were having a ton of fun. The Pacers won by a lot.

I took my phone on the walk and had a great chat with Jeff, the churches custodian. Back home again and there was time to make Broccoli soup with a starter I got at the Amish grocery store.  It seemed pretty tame. So, I added some better than chicken bouillon along with garlic, celery and onions.

The bird news is that there aren't many today.  They know to stay home when the weather feels like a tornado to them.  A few blue birds came by and before the wind the starlings finished up on the peanuts.  There was a little change in the distractors and peanuts were added again.  The wind is really banging them around.

Those pans are making a lot of noise.

I spent some time in the windy garden cutting pussy willow branches which I put in water but will take out of water when they start to swell.  That should take just a few days.

Can you spot a little white peaking out.  There will be more very soon.

Another group of crocus are beginning to swell.  This time they are yellow.

Unknown to me at the time, I bought a very small flowering type of crocus.  If you buy small, you get small.  It never changes.

So the day was interesting.  I'm loving the warmer temperatures.  What a gift to someone who loves to be outside without freezing to death.  Just freezing at times.  The mittens came in handy on the walk. Another Thursday pick up for Eric.  Andrew is on his way to choir practice real soon.  Being early is on time.  Andrew knows the drill.
