Wednesday

I woke up to what I knew would be a busy day.  And I proved to myself that was the case.  And the best part is that I lived to tell you all about it.

All the home morning stuff with a dish for the B Birds full to the top happened.  The I left a note for Doug about my schedule. If he needed me he could call.  It looked like I would be gone until at least 3.  And it was almost 4 in reality.  A long busy interesting day most like none other.

So, the first stop was to see my Primary Doctor for a follow-up.  And she did.  I gave her an up-to-date doctors report from my perspective.   Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday doctor visits were good.  Then it was off to church.

The second job was to attack the ATTIC.  That's the room over Pastor Darren's office that was the first storage home for visuals at North.  It's had other cleaning days over the years, but this one was one of the bigger ones.  I brought in the big organization team members, Kathy and Laurel.  So adding Heidi there were four ready for the challenge.  We're getting the space ready for shelving installation to bring a little order to the room. Everything was gone through. Some stuff was thrown out.  Some stuff was kept.

It might not look like a change to you, but it really is a big change to us visual workers.

All was moved and a lot of dirt was swept up.  About halfway through the thought occurred that we should have worn masks.  But we didn't. It was dusty and dirty and you name it.

There will be more moving after the shelves are in place.  Nativities will take some of that space.  Many otherl nativities are stored in the small drawers seen in this picture.  We haven't said finished completely to this assignment. Just on the way.

To complete the job shelves will be built and containers will be purchased for some of the items.  I would say it's a work in progress, but it is progressing faster than ever before.

Two beautiful back packs for donkeys from Afghanistan, loaned to us by the Mamlins are ready to be returned to them since they now are living back in the states.  They were stored in the Attic!

I think I can safely say that ALL of the places we have stored visuals now have been rummaged through and a determination has been made as to what to pitch and what to keep.  Visual work started around 1970s in earnest at North. Visuals have been through changes in personal and time.  It's time to catch up with fresh ideas again. .

The third place needing attention was a meeting of the Worship Commission of which I am a member.  It's a small group and we were updated on what's ahead until May.  Then a few more people joined us because our sr. minister is in a doctorate program needing an advisory committee being one of the requirements for the program.  A few more folks joined us and we heard about what needs to be completed and what is required of us. A lively conversation followed.  The subject of worship will be the focus of his thesis. It was a great session.

Then it was time to pick up all the loose ends and travel north again to the garage on Hillsdale.  Woo.  It was a busy day and I was happy to have had a day like today but happy to be home with knitting needles, but not for long.  Supper came from the refrigerator with split pea soup and an apple, celery, walnut salad.  This time the salad went in a huge bowl after I finished making it and Doug had seconds.

Tonight, there will be more knitting.

I'd love to finish a second scarf but right now as I type it's about half finished.  So, we'll see where that goes.  The Pacers are playing.  I think there is nothing to do that will need a ride in the chariot until Sunday unless Doug wants something from Aldi's.

Another Post  Script!  At 11:10 PM I took another picture. This picture shows two completed scarves in the box.  I met my goal for the day. Doug's in bed.  I'm on my way.

It took a Pacer game and an Ohio State game with a little extra time to get two in the box.                                                                 On to number three tomorrow.
