Friday
Woo. Today, all is right with my world. How did that happen? Well, the Benary zinnias can be seen growing in their little "green" house.
There they are as one can see them looking in from the top of the milk jug. When that happens, all is right with my world. It's as simple as that. Yes, I have something called simple living. And the zinnia seeds I saved from last summer also are sprouting. That means I did something right with my saved seed attempt.
To start the day, I threaded the loose strings into the purple scarf doing the finishing job. White yarn is on the needles. I'm addicted. No, knitting just goes well with watching or listening to T V.
A basket full of scarves with more to come.I moved on to burp cloths putting together fabric from Nancy and Beth. I'll be sending these on to Allison one of these days, the daughter to Beth and a good friend to Nancy.
Burps with more to come. And then when it warmed up a bit, I was out the door in the garden surrounded by beautiful jonquils and Lenten roses of many colors.
Who won't want to be surrounded by beautiful flowers shinning in the sunlight. What a gift.
Doris bought these for me. What a gift that reminds me of a true friend who taught me many things.I found more Bergamine to move to a sunny place. It makes the best iced tea. There is a little sprig planted in the herb garden. And sharp eyes found a few other things that needed to get back with their family. It's just surprise after surprise. There are more surprises to come.
After lunch I tackled the Noah pond area. It is always a challenge to see what has collapsed into the hole the liner uses during the winter months. Today's fix was pretty easy.
\
I cleaned the liner and reshaped the hole and added the liner, I covered it all with heavy plastic again hoping that when it's warmer all will be well when it is uncovered. If not, it won't be hard to fix.
All tucked in for another month or so.The blue false indigo is beginning to emerge. Blue has been with me for a while. Last summer I added yellow. There was more weeding which the night rain made it easy to pull. Every little bit of help is appreciated.
Tis the season of Lent with many shades of color.I love days like today. I raked another wheelbarrow full of junk. If you don't know my gardens I sure this is confusing. Why so many places to rake? Not because I want it but because I need it. It's my happy place and a super place to support good mental health. I am blessed to have it along with a body that gets tired but still recuperates. Thanks be to God.
So pretty. So, it's Friday. The liver is gone so pancakes will fill the liver's place. Probably not a good substitute. It is what it is fits well in my life today. Basketball tonight with you guessed it...knitting. Purdue has the later slot of time to play. Uck. I'll try to make it.
And occupying my mind in between times are visuals for the evening Good Friday service. The format is a bit different this year. I think that allows us to do something different visually. The wheels in my mind are turning with new ideas. It certainly isn't the same old same old but something new and fresh. Doris is talking to me. I need to consult with Darren and Heidi to see if what I'm thinking goes with their thoughts.
Are you the only person who begins a blog with pictures of dirt? : )
