Sunday.

It's that time of day again which is referring to blog time. So, here goes!  A five o'clock wake up time and I used the early hours to do some PT stuff that needs to be done lying down.  Got 'er done.  Carmel began with a dark sky, cool to cold temperatures and an attitude that made me want to stay inside.  But I got the paper in and did a Preen run on places I worked on yesterday.  Rain was on the way and I wanted Preen down before it got here.

I took up my knitting again and fell asleep till almost time to leave for church. Early arrival brought another chance to hear the choir rehearsal. I miss those folks.  They sang one of my favorites and I just sang quietly from the pew.

It never pays for me to plan ahead and that was true once again today at church.  Christine R said she had a project for me.  So, I listened.  Christian is an IPS Principal working in one of the troubled areas of the city.  But she is really good at what she does.  I'd work for her any time.  She needed two baby blankets, one for a boy and one for a girl and another quilt for an 8-year-old girl.  The babies are yet to arrive and I suspect pregnant girls at her school.  Of course I said yes. Count me in.  Had I planned to do this.  No.

It was still on the sewing machine when I took the picture.  But now totally finished.

This afternoon I pulled out fabric, made a decision and then changed my mind.  One baby boy blanket is finished.  The baby girl blanket fabric is ready to go tomorrow afternoon.  And for the 8 year old girl, Christine is bringing fabric for her quilt.  The day was very interesting and so good to have time to fill unexpected events.

Tomorrow's work for the baby girl.  Once again about 5% of my fabric is what I bought.              I am so grateful for donated fabric from many places.  I accepted anything that was offered.                                                                  What a blessing needed now to help others.

I watched a little ball but used my ears more than my eyes.

I had a conversation with paster Darren about the Celtic service Saturday evening.  My opinion was that we could consider that service as a do again next spring.  He agreed.

Heidi and James knocked this out in their basement and "planted" it in what was at one time the coop children's playground.  A good fire was burning along side but out of the picture.

Tomorrow Heidi and I are putting away a million candles.  Well, not quite but there are candles to put away preparing the chapel for the usual Lenten Wed. communions.  We'll need to prepare the sanctuary again for next Sunday's service.  We are the people of the light.  So,...humm.  I think there will be candles but not a million.  Just a few.

Today's Sunday evening will be pretty simple.  The sewing machine is turned off.  The knitting needles will be working and there will be a little ball.  Then it's on to another busy Monday.  Church once again was at its best.  There was a good rain.  The grass has moved into a good green color and the birds are behaving.  Well, some of them are.  I won't name the ones who are on the wrong side of the tracks but once again, the color is black.  But I will say they lost their suet for most of the morning.  The blue birds seem to be checking out houses lately.

  1. Great-looking blankets. Too bad it took you so long to get them done! Some people would be thinking about what to do for weeks!
