Sunday

A rather slow day I thought until I started thinking.  Yes, slow in spots and then there were fast thinking times.

A good sleep and all the morning stuff happened.  There was knitting time and sewing time and walking the garden time and it was time to hit the road for church.  And as usual there was time to hear the choir rehearse in the sanctuary.  They are a wonderful group of folks who like to be together and love to sing.  They do that very well.  I continue to be impressed with their dedication to music.  North has a long history of great congregational singing as well super choir singers.

The preaching, liturgy and prayers were a blessing.  I'm usually in tears at some point every Sunday, touch by so many things. Thinking about the fragility of life might be a cause along with great support for so many years. I walked into church with three bags for three different folks.  The crib blankets were delivered, the burps for Allison were delivered to her parents and I got an answer from Ginny about the size of the floor blankets for the Goodwill babies.  There also was time to talk with Darren about visuals for Good Friday.  A lot of things were accomplished, and I came home with a Christine quilt project for a little 8-year-old girl at her school who has been bounced from family to family in the Foster world.  That's the assignment among others for the week.

                                                                    This should be fun!

Early afternoon I texted Kathy O. to see if it were possible for a visit with her Blood Root friends.  She said Yes, come on over.

Blood Root fills a huge area of the woods.

Only a few of the many groups of jonquils given to Kathy years ago by church member Mr. Monday.                                            I also have some of Mr. Monday's garden plants.                                                                                                      Treasures beyond measure.                                                                                                 It's impossible to see but B Root is growing in among the jonquils.

Kathy listens to me talk about many things.  She's the ear that is so important that many folks do without.  So, we talked, and I visited her Blood Root friends, cousins of my B R family. There was a lot of bird talk that I love.

Then home again sending Kathy some pictures of the garden of plants she might like to have.  A few will be moving soon to the woods.

Nigella or Love in the Mist.  A delicate beautiful flower that seeds itself,                                                                     It appears every year when given the right start.

Speaking of moving...I found blue bells about 30 feet from the original place of planting this afternoon.  I think someone ate a seed and deposited it far from home.  I'll never move blue bells.  They are where they are.  Oops.  Kathy may get a few.

The afternoon included Spartan basketball, Kathy being a Spartan, along with a great spring rainstorm.  Woo.  I like them unless there are tornadoes in them.  This one had a chance.  Fingers crossed.  There will be new happenings with this rainstorm.  I think it will have something to do with sweet peas appearing. It's about time.  I saw two teeny tiny green things this afternoon. Maybe it's the beginning of something great again.

I would say today was a wonderful start to the week.  There will be another hour or so of work at church, putting things away and getting ready for communion Sunday.  Then the real work begins again for the Holy week experience and Easter.  It certainly keeps one on their toes!  Or should I say OFF the chair.
