Wednesday
Another beautiful day. Last night was a bit interesting with a big hole from 1 to 4. I discovered that my knitting had one stitch to many so I used the night to do some ripping and then some knitting. So time wasn't wasted. Then it was back to bed and I slept till 8:30. Woo, woo. Nothing lost.
I have an eye appointment next Wednesday and I wanted my current medicine list to take with me. I tried to get it from the portal but wasn't successful. So, it was a car trip to I U North and the office printed a list. Another benefit having the hospital decide to build close to us. I want to be ready for Dr. Meyers. Some days my eyes are a little crazy.
Since I slept so long the morning was short and it was lunch time.
There were lots of bowls filled with a whole lot of vegetables.
The main piece of work was making soup for tonight's Lenten study group at church. I should have done this yesterday but ran out of minutes. So, chop, chop, chop and the pot is full of potatoes, cabbage, carrots, celery, onions, chicken. cauliflower. and delicious chicken broth. It needs to finish up soon. Doug and I will be out of here and on our way not later than 4 or maybe sooner to set the place for supper. Heidi is making two kinds of soup,. Joan is bringing the salad. I have the crackers and store bought cookies. Nothing fancy. Just a good meal.
A lot of vegetables with practically no soup. It was really good. I forgot the barley. After the crock pot was cooking, I grabbed the new little shovel and met up with creeping Charlie who decided that living in the moisture filled fronts of the flower beds was a good thing. I put Charlie on the run. Well, maybe. There are other places but there always are other places where this weed lives.
Then Doug and I were off to church at 3:30. And there was a whole lot of road repair so it was good we started early. Heidi, Jone, Doug and I all arrived at the same time, and we all got a job. Mine was to find eating utensils. A few things have changed at church, so the old places had disappeared but eventually it all came together. The group was small. but a lot of soup was eaten. What was left over is now in the refrigerator and Doug is really happy with all the double stuffed cookies.
Getting the body home and on the chair felt good. I feel like a nap and that often happens when knitting needles are in my hands. It's basketball from the west coast getting ready for the NCAA tournament. Good days keep rolling in right on to the next good day. God is GOOD!
