Wednesday

I call this an interesting day because there was a little of this and a little of that.  And it all happened without leaving the driveway.  Well, I could have taken a walk around the block, perhaps!  But I didn't.

The plants are surviving although they go under cover on cold nights.                                                                          Another spot of happiness for this gardener.

I messed with the Ginny blanket project making a smaller one.  I'm always thinking of how many blankets I can get out of a Beth sheet.  I have a bigger floor blanket now and this morning what I call left over fabric was made into a smaller floor blanket.  It could just be the ticket to provide floor blankets for more babies.  I'll let Ginny decide big or little on Sunday.

I watched the TV hearing for a while, finishing another purple scarf.  So, some of the time was used wisely.  You can decide which option.  The birds got filled feeders, but the suet came in again until late afternoon.  It took the Starlings about two minutes to know their favorite was hanging outside again.  But the Blue Birds were also the happy ones.

                                                            Almost all gone, AGAIN!

Speaking of blue.  More Blue Bells are up looking around.  And true to form, they are in new places. Other plants also have popped up in new places.  Some sun lover plants once upon a time were in the sun, Then the trees grew larger and shaded them.  They will be happy with their move back to the sunshine.  A few others had children who left home, now have been reunited with their family.  There are always surprises. Do I count my flower friends' part of the family.  You bet!

Although it's hard to see in the picture, the leaves really are blue.

The most southern plot of bare ground I call the garden.  Why, because there are a few vegetables in this garden along with a whole lot of other plants one would not find in a vegetable garden.  It's a mish mash of things.

Some being asparagus, tomatoes, lettuce and cucumbers.  Then the other things in that space include milkweed, artemisia, and I hope an overwhelming bunch of zinnia.  For now, it's clean and ready to go but I know will not stay that way for long.  But the hard part is finished.  Now it's maintenance time.  More black eyes got dug out.  Only two medium sized plots are left where there were five or so.  Poor Susan, it's time to move on.

Clean as a whistle...for how long?  Preen for some areas but not where seeds will be planted.                 Yes at one time this spring there was a lot of green in this spot.  And it wasn't good green.

James and his mother and dad stopped over.  I had the camera in hand and forgot you know what.  He is a cute sensitive 2-year-old who talks a lot.  It's so much fun to visit when they walk over.  Rachel borrowed my shovel to do some digging tomorrow.  I thought that was a very good thing, giving me a vacation from the shovel.  But I still have the rake.  I'm not out of business entirely. In a couple of days, rain will be back with us.

Doug did another drug run.  This time it was for me.  We both do Walgreens but at two different places.  Both of us were at Nora but Nora screwed mine up a few years ago so I went to 116th. Maybe I should change back to Nora.  Would that make more sense?  Who knows..

Supper happened again and the evening is all mine after the blog is finished.  I think I'll start another scarf.  I'm hoping to have enough purple for one more scarf.  The third scarf from a skein is always a gamble.
