Monday

Monday's are a day of work, lately.  Late afternoon I learned that hanging on for the Monday or perhaps Tuesday after Easter needs to happen. There is another event in the works.  There is more work to do.  Today was another busy one.  I left home for church a little after 8.  The plan was to have Palm Sunday back in the box so to speak before the Oehlers arrived.  And that happened with our main job at 10 being preparation for Good Friday.  And all is in place.  Another mission completed so says Scottie.

All in place for the Friday service.                                                                          At the fifth reading of scripture the candle will be extinguished and the lamb covered signifying the death of Jesus. The cross in the choir loft is covered and the panels have been changed from purple to black.

Saturday we will prepare spaces for the Easter celebration that Christ is alive, risen from the dead.

It was a busy long morning and arriving home around 1 felt good.  But, not before stopping at Goodwill for bunnies to hide among the flowers for children who are visitors for the morning.  It's just one of my things I like to do.  I think we could add a few plastic eggs filled with candy.  Fun, fun, fun!

There was lunch and a long nap and then I made the garden walk deciding that the butterfly bushes were finally showing where there was going to be new growth.  The dead was removed, and more garden area looks just a bit better.  I had more than one load to add to the burn pile.

There was a little raking, a little digging, a plant potted, some weeds pulled, and some plants fertilized. All in a few hours of working in the garden. And calling it a day was not hard.  My muscles were talking to me.

Here is another example of where there was one comes many.  One year at North's plant swap I chose one little yellow Iris donated by the Schillings.  Now there are many and this years flower patch should be grand and wonderful.  I'm also looking forward to a first time in the garden, white Iris from our neighbor's Farrars. Anticipation both contributions is another wonderful gardening experience.

The day ended with another dinner at McAlister's with the North Side North Church group.  A whole lot of talking happened, sharing current stories, laughing at stories of by-gone years and just being together having its own benefits.

And what has been added to the visual arts team?  Earth Sunday (not the correct title) will be celebrated the first Sunday after Easter.  More visuals to support that service.  We can do it!
