Friday
What happened today? Well, enough to make me tired. The body seems to be working just fine but then the mind forgets what work the body did. I would say it's hard to get everything going in the same direction.
Tonight I call this bed finished. The Snapdragons were added today.I will say first that the sun was out, and it was a joy to be outside. I must admit that the rain has made everything look their best. The Stella-a-Doras have so many buds they should bloom for a long time. I can almost sing June is busting out all over, but it's May for a few more days.
I moved a few things. I thought the big pot of parsley would get more use if it were on the patio closer to where the cooking happens. The basil is big enough to transplant. Well, some plants are. In the afternoon I did more prep work on the over the hill Blue Bell spot and then planted that space with five large snapdragons.
I moved all the rocks making sure there were no weeds nearby. Adding zinnias and I'll call this done, finished, completed. There is room for six little zinnia plants that stay relatively small in that same bed. The last seeds I jug planted of Bernary Zinnias are starting to show they are living. Some other zinnia varieties are determined to fail, and I may replace with some State Fairs. If sick when started, they can stay sick for a long time. The bugs have found them delicious.
Until last year this area was neglected. Why? I just ignored it. Now it's a dark quiet place.I transplanted two Pansey's and five Coleus to the shady part of the yard. I'm sure they will do well there but it does take Coleus some time to get to the starting line. Patience is the word.
Our neighbors across the street have worked on their move all week. Today they finished and I'm certain they are happy to have that job in the bag. New neighbors are coming soon.
I made a phone call to Dot concerning altar flowers for Sunday. She has many, many peony's which I'll pick up tomorrow morning on the way to church. Grasses and money plant will be added. Then it's to the community room for another morning of food preparation for the community folks noon meal as well as carry out food for the weekend.
Perennial geraniums look nothing like the geraniums we call geraniums. They come in many colors.Tonight is the second game with the Knicks. I bet they are out to get us big time. I heard a sports commentator say the Pacers needed to win at least one at New York. That's done now and after tonight, it's back in Indy for more fun. It would be better if we won two. The next game is Sunday, the same day as the race. It will be a crazy day.
So the day was a good one. Lots to think about. Lots to do and just lots. I hear a loud call from the chair.
