Saturday
Today was a little crazy. It was soup kitchen day and the crazy wasn't those who walked through the door. It was all kitchen people, or should I say me.
There was breakfast. Then cutting things from the garden for the altar tomorow. There was a stop at Dot's for the Peony's that will be added to all the other stuff. And then on to church first getting the flowers finished.
After that, the work started in the Community Rm. kitchen for today's noon meal. We had good workers and once again meeting the 11 O'clock deadline with folks getting a meal. Around 10 I was moving some things in the refrigerator and a shelf came loose spilling 5 pitchers full of COLD water from my waist to the floor. Woo, I was soaked through to my shoes with that water. Squish was the word. Then as we were doing the final clean up the next spill missed me but it was a good pot of coffee that needed the mop. I can't ever remember two big spills in one morning ever that brought on a major clean up. It was time to GO HOME.
I cleaned out some stuff used a few years ago when Hospitality time was a bit different. Good will was the recipient. Most of it came from Goodwill and made a circle returning. Shelf and storage space is more important now then the stuff.
The latest purchase.I spent some time talking with the new neighbor, working in the garden and making a trip to the plant tent for a few State Fair Zinnias. Yup. I broke down. Then working a bit in the garden planting a few seeds. It would seem I don't give up.
The dark spot will hold about 8 state fair zinnias. Tomorrow is another day.I spent some time at the Galloway home enjoying a Baby Shower for daughter Allison. It was fun enjoying an evening on the patio with good friends and good food.
Then back home again with another b b game on my mind. It was a good day with another tired body that I hope made a difference for someone.
