Thursday
Another nothing burger of a day again. I just need a little heat turned on. I did the garden cruise and felt so sorry for the plants that were screaming, "turn on the heat". I did turn on the warming burner on the stove under the two jugs.
There were a few sleeping less breaks during the night, and I chose not to ask Seri who won the Knicks/Pacer game until this morning. Whimp that I am. Woo. What a wonderful surprise. 🤣Woo, woo!
I am convinced that all the rain this spring has given this 50 some year old tree another chance at living another year. The little wispy parts of the picture are its flowers. It has a strange shape but oldness brings that on, speaking from experience. So, I watched a little TV which was really a fun thing to do. The channel was 36 with Sprectrum sports and of course it was all about the Knicks/Pacer game. A win after 9 points down with 45 seconds to go. Three, three pointers gave the Pacers a tie at the horn with the ball bouncing high and then straight through the hoop leading to OT. Then came the win. Woo. I went to bed at the half! Missed all of it but I think it would have driven me nuts living through another what seems to be a typical Pacer ending. And today, that's all 36 can talk about. Thank goodness for the distraction from the weather. I must admit there was some hocky news, Rick!
A reminder of the Reggie Miller game with the Knicks a few years ago. A replay before tonight's game. These guys love each other.
I believe in God, even when he is silent.
The tray of snapdragons got an inspection with a little drink for a few of the inhabitants. I'm not planting today. By noon the have a heart trap had no visitors. The Starlings were doing their thing again. A behavior that probably has been around for hundreds or thousands of years.
I took some time filling the bird feeders and noticed that fewer and fewer of the Benary plants from seeds are making it. What a spring 2025. Some good days and some not so good days. I hope this cool weather is not having an effect on the butterfly world. But who knows for sure.
The lawn guys came a day later than usual. I suspect the rain messed up their mowing schedule. There was sleepy time again that I took easy advantage of.
I managed to prepare 60 plastic bags for soup kitchen carry out folks on Saturday.
Before prep makes the Saturday morning just a little easier.Once again, I looked for the muncher on the milkweed and this time I found the little caterpillar.
I would call this a brr kind of day resulting in a move to the dining room. I hope there is evidence of munching on milkweed in a warmer place very soon. Last year there was one caterpillar, and it died. Big bummer. The year I started this project, there were 60 Bflies released. So, there is more rain in the forecast for the evening. I'm going to wrap up in my electric throw and watch our next foe. Will it be the Okes or Minn. who play tonight. Yikes first I need to take the Knicks with more seriousness.
